Woodford did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday, allowing four runs on eight hits and no walks over 4.2 innings while striking out five.

Woodford went 1-2-3 through the opening frame before getting tagged for a two-run homer in the second, followed by another two runs in the third to put the Pirates in a 4-0 hole. The right-hander was then relieved by Joey Wentz with two outs in the fifth, but not before posting a season-high five strikeouts on the night. Woodford has now allowed four or more runs in each of his last three starts for Pittsburgh (dating back to Aug. 18), posting a 12:4 K:BB over that stretch. He's also been unable to make it through five innings in each of those outings.

Edwards went 1-for-5 with a pair of stolen bases in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Edwards singled to lead off the Marlins' half of the first inning and stole second base before advancing to third on an error. The shortstop nabbed another theft in the seventh after getting aboard on another Los Angeles error, though he was subsequently thrown out trying to steal third. Edwards has four steals over his past three games to push his total to 30 on the campaign, tied for 12th in the majors.

Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and a stolen base against Miami in Wednesday's 8-4 win.

Freeman extended his modest hitting streak to five games, though this was his first multi-hit performance during that span. While the star first baseman had a three-game streak of notching at least one RBI come to an end, he has now scored at least one run in four consecutive contests. On the season, Freeman is slashing .283/.381/.483 with 22 homers, 88 RBI, 81 runs and eight stolen bases over 609 plate appearances.

Ohtani went 1-for-5 with a stolen base Wednesday in an 8-4 win over Miami.

Ohtani didn't take long to continue his advancement on the majors' first 50-50 season, singling to left field to open the game and promptly swiping second base before advancing to third on a throwing error. His teammates were unable to bring him home, however, and Ohtani didn't reach base again in the contest. The Japanese superstar is up to 48 home runs and 49 thefts on the campaign with 10 regular-season games remaining on the schedule.

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in an 8-4 victory over the Marlins on Wednesday.

Hernandez capped a big fourth inning for the Dodgers with a 430-foot, three-run blast. The long ball was his first over his past 16 contests, and the trio of RBI were his first runs batted in over that span. Hernandez has been working in a platoon with Gavin Lux at second base -- the former has started four of Los Angeles' past five games against southpaw starters while Lux has been getting all of the starts against right-handers.

Edman went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-4 win against Miami.

Edman contributed to a five-run fourth inning for Los Angeles with a two-run shot to right field. The homer was his sixth in his past eight games, a span in which eight of his nine hits have gone for extra bases. Since being activated from the IL for his season debut Aug. 19, Edman has slashed .279/.309/.510 with six homers, 17 RBI, 15 runs and five steals over 27 contests.

Smith went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-4 victory versus the Marlins.

Smith put the Dodgers on the board in the second inning with a solo shot to left field. The long ball was his 19th of the campaign, tying his total from last season. The All-Star catcher's .246 batting average on the campaign is well below his career norm, but he's shown signs of coming to life at the plate of late, batting .333 (7-for-21) with two homers, two RBI and seven runs over his past six games.

Wade went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Orioles.

Wade has been decent in September, going 11-for-41 (.268) with two extra-base hits, eight RBI and four runs scored over 13 games this month. His steal Wednesday was just his second theft of the year, matching his total from 2023. Overall, the first baseman has a .267/.390/.376 slash line with six home runs, 31 RBI, 42 runs scored and 15 doubles over 370 plate appearances in a strong-side platoon role.

Weathers (3-6) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and no walks while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings.

Weathers made his first major-league start since June 7 following a stint on the injured list due to a finger injury. All of Los Angeles' runs against the left-hander came via the long ball, and the majority of the damage came in a five-run fourth inning that included a two-run blast by Tommy Edman and a three-run shot off the bat of Enrique Hernandez. The barrage of homers hasn't been typical for Weathers this season -- prior to Wednesday, he hadn't given up multiple home runs in any of his 13 outings and had surrendered a tolerable eight long balls over 71 frames overall.

Knack (3-4) earned the win over Miami on Wednesday, allowing two hits and issuing two walks while striking out seven batters over five scoreless innings.

Knack struggled mightily in his previous start, surrendering five runs in just two innings against Atlanta. He bounced back with an excellent performance Wednesday, racking up seven punchouts while limiting the Marlins to just two hits (both singles). Knack's strong outing may have implications beyond this contest, as he's in consideration for a spot in Los Angeles' initial postseason rotation given the likely unavailability of Clayton Kershaw (toe), Tyler Glasnow (elbow) and Gavin Stone (shoulder).
