Hilliard will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Hilliard will stick in the lineup for the sixth game in a row, this time occupying right field after his previous five starts came in either center or left field. The 30-year-old has earned the uptick in playing time by going 5-for-18 with a home run, a double, two walks, a stolen base, three RBI and three runs over the previous five contests.

Goodman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Goodman had appeared to take control of the Rockies' No. 1 catcher job after producing an .861 OPS through the first three weeks of September, but he'll end up hitting the bench for a second straight game Wednesday. Jacob Stallings will receive another start behind the plate with Goodman out of the lineup.

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with a left hamstring injury, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Rodgers missed a couple starts earlier this month with right hamstring tightness, but it's apparently an injury to his other hamstring that will keep him out of the lineup Wednesday for the second day in a row. For his part, Rodgers doesn't seem too concerned about the injury, as he said he would be available off the bench for an at-bat, if needed. Aaron Schunk will cover the keystone Wednesday in Rodgers' stead.

Higashioka isn't in the Padres' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Higashioka's single in Tuesday's win broke an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and he'll now get a chance to rest while Elias Diaz catches for Dylan Cease.

Nootbaar is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

The left-handed-hitting Nootbaar will retreat to the bench while the Rockies send lefty Austin Gomber to the bump. He'll be replaced in the starting nine by Thomas Saggese, who steps in at second base while Brendan Donovan moves out of the infield and occupies Nootbaar's usual spot in left field.

Burleson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Burleson will be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitter Lars Nootbaar while the Rockies send southpaw Austin Gomber to the hill. Ivan Herrera will replace Burleson as the Cardinals' designated hitter.

India cleared concussion protocol Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

India was pulled from Tuesday's game after getting hit in the head by a pitch, and while he'll sit out of Wednesday's contest, the 27-year-old has officially avoided a concussion. He'll get another day to rest during Cincinnati's off day Thursday before potentially rejoining the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Cubs.

Stowers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Stowers will take a seat after he started both of the past two games, going 0-for-8 with five strikeouts. He'll cede his spot in the outfield to Derek Hill.

Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Fortes will take a seat after he started at catcher in each of Miami's last three contests while going 2-for-11 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jhonny Pereda will get a turn behind the plate in Fortes' stead.

Lopez (shoulder) said he threw a bullpen session Tuesday at about 80 percent intensity, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Though he has yet to be turned fully loose for a bullpen session and has yet to resume facing hitters, Lopez said Wednesday that he feels ready to return from the 15-day injured list. It's not clear if Atlanta agrees with Lopez's assessment, however, so the right-hander should be considered far from a lock to be activated for this weekend's three-game series with the Royals. If Lopez does return before the end of the regular season, he would almost certainly be deployed in relief, given that he has yet to ramp back up to a starter-level pitch count.
