The Nationals acquired Lowe from the Rangers on Sunday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Per Passan, the Rangers will receive left-handed reliever Robert Garcia in a 1-for-1 trade. Lowe played in 140 regular-season games for the Rangers in 2024 and finished with a slash line of .265/.361/.401 with 16 home runs and 69 RBI over 565 plate appearances. The trade provides a path for Jake Burger -- who was acquired by the Rangers from the Marlins on Dec. 10 -- to take over as the starting first baseman for the Rangers for the 2025 campaign.

The Phillies designated Gilbert for assignment Sunday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The left-hander lost his place on the 40-man roster to make room for Jesus Luzardo (back), who was acquired via trade from the Marlins on Sunday. Gilbert allowed three earned runs over 8.1 major-league innings during 2024 and spent most of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he had a 4.70 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 65:14 K:BB over 51.2 innings.

The Marlins acquired Caba and Emaarion Boyd from the Phillies on Sunday in exchange for left-hander Jesus Luzardo (back) and minor-league catcher Paul McIntosh, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Caba was one of Philadelphia's top prospects after signing in the 2022-23 international class and split the 2024 campaign between rookie ball and Single-A Clearwater. He'll likely return to the Single-A level to begin 2025 given his .493 OPS in 26 games there last season, but he showcased a strong eye at the plate with a 14.4 percent walk rate in addition to his plus-glove at shortstop.

The Phillies acquired Luzardo (back) and catcher Paul McIntosh from the Marlins on Sunday in exchange for prospects Starlyn Caba and Emaarion Boyd, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The 27-year-old lefty was nearly acquired by the Cubs earlier in the week, and it didn't take long for the Marlins to hammer out a deal with a new trade partner. Luzardo had a 5.00 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 12 starts in 2024 as he missed the final three-plus months of the campaign due to a lumbar stress reaction. However, he had a 3.48 ERA and 10.6 K/9 in 279 innings across the previous two seasons and is under team control for two more years. Luzardo bolsters a strong Phillies rotation that already features Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez and Cristopher Sanchez.

Naylor was traded from the Guardians to the Diamondbacks on Saturday in exchange for right-handed pitcher Slade Cecconi and a competitive balance Round B draft pick, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Arizona needed a first baseman after Christian Walker signed with Houston on Friday, and Naylor should be slated to fill an everyday role for his new team. The 27-year-old tallied career-best marks with 31 home runs, 108 RBI and 84 runs over 632 plate appearances during the 2024 regular season while slashing .243/.320/.456 over 632 plate appearances. Naylor's batting average was a big drop-off from 2023, when he hit .308, but he finished as one of 14 big leaguers with 30-plus homers and 100-plus RBI. Naylor is in his final season of team control and can be a free agent at the end of the 2025 campaign.

The Yankees traded Trevino to the Reds on Friday in exchange for Fernando Cruz and Alex Jackson, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Trevino slashed .215/.288/.354 with eight homers and 28 RBI over 234 regular-season plate appearances in 2024 while backing up Austin Wells. With Tyler Stephenson already in Cincinnati, Trevino will almost certainly continue to act as a backup, but the 32-year-old's career .637 OPS isn't likely to earn him a spot in the lineup very often.

The Marlins designated Brujan for assignment Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Brujan played in a career-high 102 games last season, during which he slashed .222/.303/.319 with 16 RBI and five stolen bases. However, Miami signed Eric Wagaman to a one-year deal Friday, which will force Brujan to give up his spot on the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old's defensive versatility could draw interest from other teams on the waiver wire, though chances are he begins the season in Triple-A.

The Marlins signed Wagaman to a one-year contract Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Wagaman was non-tendered by the Angels last month. The 27-year-old got a cup of coffee with the Halos in 2024, slashing .250/.270/.403 with two homers in 18 games with a .274/.339/.469 line and 17 home runs last year in the minors. Wagaman should have a pretty good chance to make the Opening Day roster as a utility player on a talent-deficient Marlins club.

Atlanta acquired Daniel from the Angels on Friday in exchange for Mitch Farris.

Daniel had been designated for assignment by the Angels but will now join Atlanta's 40-man roster. The 27-year-old posted a 6.23 ERA and 28:6 K:BB over 30.1 innings in 2024 and will likely begin 2025 in the Triple-A Gwinnett rotation.

The Mets signed Ortiz (elbow) to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Ortiz will miss most, if not all, of the 2025 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, so this is likely a two-year minor-league deal. He holds a career 4.76 ERA and 25:16 K:BB across 34 innings covering parts of five seasons at the big-league level.
