Marte was removed from Friday's game against the Nationals with an apparent leg injury, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Marte seemingly suffered the injury on the basepaths during his first-inning double, which probably could have been a triple if he hadn't pulled up lame into second base. More details on the nature and severity of his injury will have to wait until the D-backs take a closer look at him, though he was visibly in pain while limping off the field.

Manaea said Friday that his strained right oblique is feeling good after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection Tuesday, Manny Gomez of NJ.com reports.

Manaea is still only three days into his two-week no-throw period following his injection, but the fact that he's beginning to feel better is encouraging after he had struggled with the injury for most of spring training. Once he's cleared to begin throwing, the Mets will likely build the 33-year-old back up slowly, and he'll presumably make a few rehab starts in the minors before his season debut.

Steer isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

After a 1-for-18 start to the season, Steer will get a chance to rest and collect himself during a day off Friday. Meanwhile, Jeimer Candelario will serve as the Reds' designated hitter while Santiago Espinal starts at the hot corner.

Fraley isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Milwaukee.

Back-to-back games against opposing left-handed starters will mean back-to-back days off for Fraley, who owns just a .504 OPS against southpaws for his career. Blake Dunn will fill in as Cincinnati's right fielder again Friday.

Trevino isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

Trevino has gone 3-for-14 through his first six games of the season, and he'll get a chance to catch his breath Saturday while Austin Wynns starts behind the plate and bats ninth.

Murphy (rib) is starting at catcher Friday for Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday and is expected to be activated from the 10-day IL by Atlanta before the end of this weekend's series versus Miami, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old began his rehab assignment with Gwinnett on Tuesday and will catch for Spencer Strider (elbow) in his own rehab start Friday. Murphy suffered the rib fracture in early March, but it appears he'll only end up missing the first week-plus of the regular season. Prospect Drake Baldwin has been filling in as Atlanta's primary backstop but could soon be headed back to Triple-A.

Pham was pulled from Friday's game against the Yankees due to an illness, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Pham was removed after logging just one plate appearance -- a groundout in the second inning. He's been deemed day-to-day by the team and may miss another game or two while he recovers.

Tinoco (back) threw a bullpen session Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

A back strain sent Tinoco to the injured list Sunday, but he is now back to throwing off a mound just a few days later. His progress is a good sign that he may be able to return when eligible April 12, though the Marlins haven't committed to that date just yet.

Pham was removed from Friday's game versus the Yankees with an apparent injury, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

It's not clear what happened with Pham, who grounded out in the bottom of the second inning before being replaced on defense by Alexander Canario before the top of the third. The Pirates should offer an update on his status shortly.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Friday that Painter (elbow) could begin a rehab assignment soon, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Painter had a two-inning live batting practice session Friday that went well and the next step for the right-hander could be pitching in a game. He is healthy, but Painter is being slow-played by the Phillies as he comes back from Tommy John surgery in July 2023. The top prospect is expected to become an option for the big-league rotation around midseason.
