  • Sal Frelick RF | MIL

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Taking seat versus southpaw

Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

The 26-year-old started the previous eight games, including three against left-handed starting pitchers, but Frelick will head to the bench Sunday as southpaw Carlos Rodon (shoulder) makes his season debut for New York. Frelick struggled to a .226/.273/.323 slash line during that eight-game stretch and has yet to get on track at the plate this year with a .616 OPS through 36 games.

  • Giants' Daniel Susac: Multi-hit effort in rehab game

Susac (elbow) went 2-for-4 in Triple-A Sacramento's 2-1 loss to Reno on Friday.

Susac made his second rehab appearance in as many days, logging multiple hits in both contests. The 24-year-old catcher singled twice Friday and has gone 5-for-8 with three RBI and two long balls across eight plate appearances with Triple-A Sacramento. With Patrick Bailey now in Cleveland, Susac will likely step into a sizable role once he's reinstated from the injured list.

  • Eric Haase C | SF

Giants' Eric Haase: Logs RBI in loss

Haase went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Pirates.

After the Giants traded Patrick Bailey to the Guardians earlier in the day, Haase got the starting nod at catcher Saturday. The veteran hit an RBI single in the ninth inning and is now slashing .286/.286/.429 with two runs scored and two RBI across 14 plate appearances this season. Until Daniel Susac (elbow) returns, Haase and Jesus Rodriguez will split playing time behind the plate.

  • Troy Johnston RF | COL

Rockies' Troy Johnston: Sitting against southpaw

Johnston is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

With southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the bump for Philadelphia, the Rockies will stock up on right-handed bats in the lineup, with Johnston joining fellow left-handed hitters Edouard Julien, TJ Rumfield and Brett Sullivan on the bench. Jordan Beck will receive the nod in right field.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Rockies' Edouard Julien: Moving to bench versus lefty

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

With southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the bump for Philadelphia, the Rockies will stock up on some extra right-handed bats while Julien joins fellow left-handed hitters TJ Rumfield, Troy Johnston and Brett Sullivan on the bench. Tyler Freeman will receive the nod at second base in place of Julien.

  • TJ Rumfield 3B | COL

Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Heading to bench Sunday

Rumfield is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

With southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the bump for Philadelphia, the Rockies will stock up on right-handed bats in the lineup, with Rumfield joining fellow left-handed hitters Edouard Julien, Troy Johnston and Brett Sullivan on the bench. Willi Castro will receive the nod at first base.

  • Rockies' Brett Sullivan: Back on bench

Sullivan is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Sullivan will hit the bench for the series finale after he went 0-for-10 with six strikeouts over the past three games while making two starts at catcher and one at designated hitter. Despite the recent uptick in playing time, Sullivan is unlikely to move into a full-time role so long as top backstop Hunter Goodman is healthy.

  • Owen Caissie OF | MIA

Marlins' Owen Caissie: Scratched with triceps injury

The Marlins scratched Caissie from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals due to left triceps discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Heriberto Hernandez will enter the Marlins' starting nine as a replacement for Caissie, batting seventh while occupying left field. Though Miami has mostly shielded him from southpaws this season, Caissie has struggled to a .198/.254/.317 slash line while striking out at a 41.2 percent clip over 114 plate appearances.

  • TJ Friedl CF | CIN

Reds' TJ Friedl: Not in Sunday's lineup

Friedl is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Friedl has gone 1-for-17 across the past five games and will hit the bench Sunday with opposing pitcher Kai-Wei Teng starting what is expected to be a bullpen game for Houston. Blake Dunn will take over in center field while Will Benson steps into the leadoff spot for Cincinnati.

  • Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Sitting after four straight starts

Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Sosa will hit the bench after starting four straight games and going 3-for-15 with three RBI and one run. Two of those starts came at third base in place of Alec Bohm, but Sosa may not be in line for much playing time at the hot corner after Bohm finally busted out with two home runs and a double in his return to the lineup Saturday.
