Pham was suspended for one game and fined by Major League Baseball on Friday due to "inappropriate actions toward fans" during Wednesday's contest, Jessica Kleinschmidt of Baseball America reports.

Pham will appeal his suspension and remains eligible to play for the Pirates until a verdict is reached. The veteran outfielder has begun to heat up recently, going 6-for-13 with an RBI and two runs scored over his last three games.

Smith (wrist) is starting behind home plate and batting sixth against the Pirates on Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Smith injured his left wrist during Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Cubs while tagging Ian Happ at home plate in the sixth. Austin Barnes got the start Wednesday, but after Thursday's off day, Smith has been cleared to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener. Smith has started the season slashing .350/.453/.567 with one stolen base, eight runs scored, three home runs and 15 RBI in 75 plate appearances.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

The lefty-hitting Smith will stay put in the D-backs' dugout while left-hander Chris Sale toes the slab for Atlanta. Randal Grichuk will enter the lineup as Arizona's DH and bat third.

Thomas is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

With Chris Sale starting on the bump for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Thomas will grab a seat on the bench while Jorge Barrosa starts in center field and bats ninth.

Maldonado is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Rays on Friday.

Maldonado has started in more games as of late, but he'll rest Friday while Elias Diaz starts behind home plate and bats eighth against Rays right-hander Shane Baz. Maldonado is slashing .225/.244/.300 with one home run and two RBI in 41 plate appearances this season.

Myers isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Myers has slashed .235/.235/.324 across 34 plate appearances since the start of April, and he'll take a seat for a second consecutive game Friday. While he rests, Eric Wagaman, Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers will start across Miami's outfield.

Lopez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Seattle.

Lopez will get a chance to regroup Friday after slashing .200/.265/.289 across 49 plate appearances over Miami's last dozen games. His absence will open up second base for Javier Sanoja to start and bat ninth.

Lux is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies.

The 27-year-old started the previous five games (all against right-handed pitchers) but will sit Friday as lefty Kyle Freeland takes the mound for Colorado. Lux is in the midst of a nine-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 15-for-31 with a homer and 7:6 BB:K, and he figures to be back in there to face off against righty Antonio Senzatela on Saturday.

The Nationals reinstated Brzykcy (quadriceps) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.

The right-hander was sidelined for the first month of the campaign due to a quadriceps strain, but he won't join the big club upon the completion of his four-game rehab assignment. Brzykcy received his first taste of the majors last season with six relief appearances and gave up nine earned runs over 5.2 innings.

The Diamondbacks optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

The right-hander was called up by Arizona last weekend and gave up two earned runs over two frames in his two appearances. Feyereisen will now return to Reno, but he'll likely receive another look with the Diamondbacks at some point this summer.
