Betts went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs scored and a RBI during Thursday's 6-5 win over the Mets.

Betts shook of an 0-for-4 performance Wednesday by reaching all four times he batted Thursday, including a run-scoring double in the third inning that started a four-run comeback by the Dodgers. That knock snapped a 10-game skid by the 32-year-old without an extra-base hit. The showing brought his OPS up to .751, but he's still well short of the .863 OPS he posted during the 2024 regular season.

Knack covered just 3.1 innings Thursday, allowing four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out one during a 6-5 win against the Mets. He didn't factor in the decision.

It was a tough outing for a pitcher who looked like he was turning a corner after back-to-back quality starts. Of Knack's 86 pitches Thursday, 40 of them were balls, leading to a season-high five walks. He also surrendered a season-high three home runs, though the fact all three were solo shots limited the damage. Knack has given up nine home runs in his past five outings, partially leading to his 5.12 ERA on the season. He isn't guaranteed to stick in the rotation, but the right-hander is tentatively scheduled to make his next start on the road at San Diego.

Alonso went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a hit-by-pitch during Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Alonso finished off the Dodgers series red hot at the plate, going a combined 7-for-13 with a double, three home runs and nine RBI over the final three games of the four-game set. The 30-year-old has been one of baseball's best hitters this season and is up to 55 RBI, tied for the second most in MLB. He is slashing .298/.394/.579, with his average, OBP and OPS on track to set career highs if those high marks hold throughout the season.

Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

In just 59 games, Nimmo has already clinched his fourth straight season with double-digit home runs. The 32-year-old has been a strong run producer for the Mets of late, knocking in five RBI in his last six games. He is slashing .233/.298/.423 with three steals, 32 RBI and 27 runs this season, in addition to the 10 long balls.

Marte went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs scored during Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Marte picked up his first multi-hit game since May, reaching in four of five plate appearances Thursday. That included his fourth home run of the season and first in June. The 36-year-old, who entered the game with just four hits in his last 17 at-bats, will hope this game can get him going as his current batting average of .240 in 104 at-bats is on track for the lowest of his career.

Peterson didn't factor into the decision Thursday after allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six in seven innings during a 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Peterson continues to pitch well in 2025, with the three earned runs given up Thursday tying his season high through 12 outings. He's been up to the challenge in his two starts against the Dodgers with five runs allowed across 14.2 innings. The 29-year-old has thrown at least six innings in five of his last six starts and sports a 2.58 ERA over that timeframe. Peterson is next slated to start at home against the Nationals next week.

Machado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to San Francisco on Thursday.

Machado provided the Padres' only runs of the contest when he took Robbie Ray deep for a two-run blast in the second inning. It was the star third baseman's second home run through five games in June, and he's batting .421 (8-for-19) with six RBI during that span. Machado is currently hitting .317 on the campaign, putting him on pace for the highest batting average of his career.

Lee went 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two walks in Thursday's 3-2 win over San Diego.

The 26-year-old outfielder knocked a ground-rule double into right-center field during the first inning and later scored on another ground-rule double by Dominic Smith in the third after reaching base on a walk. Lee also tied the game-high mark in free passes after going without one in the club's past six outings. He now owns a .276/.326/.439 slash line with 34 runs scored, 32 RBI, 17 doubles, six homers, six stolen bases and a team-best 11.9 percent strikeout rate across 261 plate appearances this season.

Contreras went 4-for-8 with two doubles, one walk, four RBI and two runs scored as the Cardinals split Thursday's doubleheader versus the Royals.

Contreras hadn't posted a multi-hit effort since May 16, which was coincidentally also against the Royals. He's hit safely in six straight games, including logging a double in four of them. For the season, the 33-year-old is at a .250/.328/.391 slash line with six home runs, 36 RBI, 28 runs scored, 13 doubles and two stolen bases over 58 games.

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 7-5 loss to the Royals in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader.

Arenado went 0-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in the matinee contest. His homer tied the nightcap at 5-5, but the Cardinals didn't score again after that. The third baseman has three homers and 12 RBI over his last 13 contests, but he's gone just 9-for-49 (.184) with three walks in that span. After a hot start to the year, it looked like his struggles from the last two years were behind him, but overall he has a .228/.296/.379 slash line over 57 contests in 2025. Arenado has added seven homers, 31 RBI, 27 runs scored and one stolen base this season.
