Baldwin went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Reds.

He took Brent Suter deep in the fifth inning to get Atlanta on the board. Baldwin has been starting every third contest since Sean Murphy settled back into the top spot on the depth chart in mid-April, and over his last 12 games, the rookie backstop is batting an impressive .379 (11-for-29) with all three of his homers on the season. Murphy is slashing just .204/.295/.407 with a 32.8 percent strikeout rate in 61 plate appearances during that same period, so Baldwin could begin to push his way into a more even timeshare behind the plate.

Milwaukee optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday.

After giving up six earned runs in 3.1 innings of long relief in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Astros, Rodriguez was unlikely to be available out of the bullpen for the next few days, so Milwaukee will remove him from the 26-man active roster. Expect the team to call up another reliever from Triple-A in advance of Friday's series opener at Tampa Bay.

Flores went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Cubs.

Following an 0-for-15 slump, Flores now has at least one hit in his last six games -- he's gone 9-for-24 (.375) with five RBI in that span. The 33-year-old Flores is now slashing .256/.308/.429 through 143 plate appearances this season with seven homers, 33 RBI and 17 runs scored.

The Cardinals are expected to activate Herrera (knee) from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's contest against the Nationals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Herrera has gone 9-for-23 with one home run and one double in six rehab games with Triple-A Memphis, splitting reps between catcher and designated hitter. Luken Baker has been optioned to Memphis, which frees up Herrera to DH against left-handers in addition to catching as the Cardinals ease him back into action following a month-long absence with a left knee bone bruise.

Baker has played sparingly as the short side of a platoon at designated hitter, slashing .235/.366/.324 over 41 plate appearances. The Cardinals have not announced a corresponding move, but it will likely involve activating Ivan Herrera (knee) from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game against the Nationals.

Lux went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

Lux had a run-producing groundout in the first inning then scored the eventual game-winning run after a fourth-inning single. The two-hit game is a welcome sign for Lux, who entered Wednesday on a 1-for-21 stretch over the previous six contests. Cincinnati is dealing with multiple injuries in the outfield and at third base, positions at which the versatile fielder can play. Lux is batting .302/.396/.422 with nine doubles, one triple, one home run, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored through 34 games.

Hurtubise started in left field and went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

Hurtubise was called up earlier in the week after Tyler Callihan (forearm) was added to the 10-day injured list. This is Hurtubise's second stint with the Reds this season. He was on the Opening Day roster and served mostly as a pinch hitter. In addition to Callihan's injury, the Reds are without outfielders Austin Hays (IL-hamstring) and Jake Fraley (calf, day-to-day).

Hinds started in right field and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

Hinds was recalled from Triple-A Louisville and started in right field for Jake Fraley (calf), who is day-to-day. The Reds have a few outfield injuries -- Austin Hays (hamstring) and Tyler Callihan (forearm) are on the 10-day injured list -- so Hinds may get additional work in the next few days. He slashed .281/.343/.554 with eight home runs and 12 steals this season for Louisville.

Lowder (forearm) will make his next rehab start Sunday for High-A Dayton, MLB.com reports.

Lowder had his first rehab outing Tuesday, when he logged three innings for the Reds' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League. He checked out okay a day later and will move on to more advanced competition.

Carroll went 2-for-2 with two walks and a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Mets.

Carroll led off the bottom of the eighth inning with his 11th home run of the season. Following an eight-game stretch during which he batted .147 without knocking in a run, Carroll is back to normal. The outfielder has hit safely in four consecutive contests, going 7-for-15 with two home runs, four walks and five RBI.
