Ian Happ LF | CHC
Cubs' Ian Happ: Nursing oblique injury
Happ isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets due to an oblique injury, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Happ's oblique reportedly began bothering him after his first at-bat in Friday's contest, but he was able to play through it for the rest of the night. The Cubs will sit him down Saturday as a precaution and start Seiya Suzuki in left field while Justin Turner serves as the DH.

Justin Martinez RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Justin Martinez: Beginning mound work Sunday
Martinez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday that the ball has been "sizzling" out of Martinez's hand during his throwing program, which is a sign that the 23-year-old is feeling good after landing on the injured list May 1 with shoulder inflammation. Assuming all goes well during his bullpen session, Martinez may still be on pace to return when eligible Friday.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Not starting Saturday
Smith isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Smith is 1-for-11 with four strikeouts in his career against Arizona starter Corbin Burnes. The 30-year-old backstop will step out of the lineup Saturday while Austin Barnes starts behind the dish and bats ninth.

Matt Mervis 1B | WAS
Marlins' Matt Mervis: Sitting again Saturday
Mervis isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
Make it back-to-back days that Mervis has taken a seat against a right-handed starter. It's still unclear at his point if the 27-year-old has fallen down the Marlins' depth chart, but he'll step aside Saturday while Ronny Simon serves as Miami's DH against Chicago's Shane Smith.

Lourdes Gurriel LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: Resting Saturday
Gurriel isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
After going 1-for-5 with a grand slam and five total RBI in Friday's loss, Gurriel will step out of the starting nine Saturday. Tim Tawa will pick up a start in left field as a result and bat eighth.
-
Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Riding bench Saturday
McNeil isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
McNeil will get a breather Saturday after making four consecutive starts, during which he went 2-for-12 with a homer and two RBI. Luisangel Acuna will get the nod at second base and bat sixth.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Snell: Will resume throwing Sunday
Snell (shoulder) is expected to play catch Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Snell was previously expected to resume throwing Friday, but manager Dave Roberts indicated that the hurler came down with an illness that "set him back a couple days." Snell hasn't thrown at all since late April and received a cortisone injection in the hope that it would help with the inflammation in his left shoulder. The left-handed pitcher is likely at least several weeks away from returning to the Dodgers' rotation.

Elijah Morgan RP | KC
Cubs' Eli Morgan: Moved to 60-day IL
The Cubs transferred Morgan (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
A right elbow impingement sent Morgan to the injured list April 15, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least mid-June. The 28-year-old southpaw will be replaced by Cade Horton on the 40-man roster.

Tom Cosgrove RP | WAS
Cubs' Tom Cosgrove: Sent back to minors
The Cubs optioned Cosgrove to Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Cosgrove was brought up from the minors Friday to replace Caleb Thielbar (paternity) but will now head back to Iowa to clear space on the active roster for Cade Horton. Cosgrove has given up just one run in four innings with the Cubs this season and is a candidate to return to Chicago later in the year whenever the big club needs a fresh bullpen arm.
