Suarez (1-0) earned the win against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven scoreless innings.

Suarez was incredibly efficient, needing just 82 pitches to complete seven innings while generating 11 swinging strikes. It was an encouraging rebound after the southpaw yielded seven runs in his return from the injured list Sunday. He'll carry a 5.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB across 10.2 innings into a home matchup with the Pirates next weekend.

Sosa went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 7-1 win over Cleveland.

Sosa filled in at third base for the resting Alec Bohm, making his first start since last Sunday's loss to Arizona. While Sosa is slashing a strong .333/.380/.422 with four doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored over 50 plate appearances, he'll likely remain restricted to a bench role while Philadelphia's infield is fully healthy.

Nelson struck out one over two perfect innings to earn the save in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Dodgers.

Nelson's previous outing was a spot start Monday versus the Mets, in which he allowed two runs over 4.1 innings while covering the absence of Corbin Burnes (shoulder). Burnes returned to the mound Saturday and delivered seven shutout innings, and Nelson was able to close out the win, needing just 16 pitches (11 strikes) over the last two frames. While Nelson got this save, he's unlikely to be a regular in the high-leverage mix. He likely got the late-inning assignment Saturday because five of Arizona's other relievers had pitched at least once over the previous two days, while he was fresh. Nelson has a 5.01 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 23:8 K:BB, 1-1 record, one save and one blown save across 23.1 innings this season. He should settle back into a long-relief role.

Ryan (elbow) has resumed throwing off a mound but hasn't yet progressed to full bullpen sessions, per MLB.com.

Ryan is making gradual progress from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last August. A return to the big-league roster near the end of the regular season is a possibility if Ryan continues to proceed without any setbacks, but it's not a guarantee that he'll pitch for the Dodgers this season given the nature of his procedure.

Burnes (2-1) allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five over seven shutout innings to earn the win Saturday over the Dodgers.

Burnes had his previous start skipped while dealing with shoulder inflammation, but it appears the issue is behind him now. He threw 91 pitches (58 strikes) Saturday in his first start since April 30 versus the Mets, covering a valuable seven innings after the Diamondbacks had to dip into their bullpen early Friday. Burnes is now at a 2.95 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB over 39.2 innings across seven starts. The lofty walk rate remains a concern, as his 4.3 BB/9 would be the highest of his career. Assuming he feels fine after this start, he's projected for a home outing versus the pitiful Rockies in his next turn.

Hurt (elbow) has resumed throwing off a mound but hasn't yet progressed to full bullpen sessions, per MLB.com.

Myers did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rays, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over four innings.

Myers allowed two runs in the fourth inning and was lifted after 75 pitches, 47 of which went for strikes. The 26-year-old has completed five innings just once through four starts, never exceeding 82 pitches. He owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 11:10 K:BB across 16.1 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Twins next weekend.

Ohtani (elbow) threw an up-down bullpen session Saturday in Arizona, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

This was the first time Ohtani has done an up-down -- meaning he simulated a break between innings -- as he continues this pitching progression. Aside from the added wrinkle, the session was similar to recent bullpens the two-way star has thrown, as he tossed around 35 pitches consisting of four-seamers, two-seamers and splitters. Ohtani has yet to deploy his full pitch mix or throw to live hitters, however, so he's probably still at least a couple months away from returning to game action. The Dodgers plan to have him build up through simulated games since his role as a designated hitter precludes him from going on a minor-league rehab pitching assignment.

Encarnacion (hand) is starting his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Encarnacion started the season on the injured list after fracturing his left hand in mid-March. He has steadily increased his baseball activities over the past two months and is taking the final step in his recovery program by embarking on a rehab assignment. Barring any setbacks, Encarnacion could be activated from the IL when first eligible May 23. He'll start at first base in Saturday's outing, and that could be where he gets most of his playing time when he returns to the majors while Wilmer Flores stays in the DH spot, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Cruz was removed from Saturday's 3-2 extra innings loss to Atlanta due to lower-back tightness, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Per Stumpf, Cruz appeared to tweak his back in the ninth frame and was replaced by Liover Peguero. Cruz will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury, but he is in jeopardy of missing Sunday's series finale. Ji Hwan Bae would be in line to see more work in the outfield if Cruz is unable to play.
