Bart went 4-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to Atlanta.

All four knocks were singles, but it was still an impressive way for the backstop to snap a 2-for-20 beginning to the month of May. Bart has been handling a hefty workload so far this season, in part due to the absence of Endy Rodriguez (finger), and through 98 plate appearances he's slashing .286/.412/.378 with one homer, seven runs and eight RBI. If Bart can find a way to pair last year's power display with his newfound patience, he could be headed for a big summer.

Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in Saturday's 21-0 thrashing of the Rockies.

Cronenworth's long ball was a massive 435-foot solo blast to right field in the third inning. This was just his second game back from a month-long stint on the injured list, and since his return he's gone 3-for-7 with three walks and four RBI. Cronenworth is slashing .286/.436/.548 with three homers, 11 runs and nine RBI through 55 plate appearances on the season.

Heaney didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to Atlanta, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.

The veteran southpaw only managed four swinging strikes on the afternoon among his 82 pitches, and all four of the hits off him went for extra bases, but Heaney still managed to deliver his fourth quality start of the season. He'll take a 3.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB through 45.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Philadelphia.

Merrill went 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI in a 21-0 win against Colorado on Saturday.

Merrill paced San Diego with four hits in the rout, though none of his knocks went for extra bases. The star young outfielder has been on quite a roll since returning from the injured list May 6, collecting multiple hits in all four contests so far and going 11-for-19 with a home run and six RBI during that span. The scorching stretch has pushed Merrill's season slash line to an absurd .446/.475/.732 through 61 plate appearances.

Sheets went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, two total runs and three total RBI in a 21-0 rout of the Rockies on Saturday.

Sheets capped a five-run San Diego first inning with a 439-foot, two-run blast to right-center field, and he added an RBI double in the eighth frame to conclude a huge offensive day for the team. The veteran slugger has seven RBI over his past two games, exceeding the total he had accumulated over his previous 20 contests combined. Sheets is thriving in his first year with the Padres, slashing .296/.353/.500 with five long balls, 21 RBI, 15 runs and a stolen base through 119 plate appearances.

Smith-Shawver came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the Pirates, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

The 22-year-old righty fell one out short of his second straight quality start, getting the hook after 97 pitches (59 strikes) with Atlanta nursing a 2-1 lead, but the bullpen wasn't able to get him his third straight win. Smith-Shawver has been outstanding since rejoining the big-league rotation in late April, posting a 1.42 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB over 19 innings, but it's not yet clear what the team intends to do with him once Spencer Strider (hamstring) is ready to return. Smith-Shawver lines up to get at least one more turn in a home start against the Nationals next week.

Tatis went 2-for-4 with a home run, three total runs, three total RBI and a walk in Saturday's 21-0 thrashing of the Rockies.

To put things in perspective, every one of San Diego's starters got at least one hit Saturday, and Tatis was one of five players on the team to rack up at least three RBI. He also hit one of the squad's five homers, belting a three-run shot in the fifth inning. The long ball snapped a 15-game homerless stretch for Tatis, and the three RBI matched the total amount of runs batted in that he had accumulated during that span.

Williams (2-4) took the loss Saturday as the Nationals fell 4-2 to the Cardinals, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

He did complete six innings for the first time in 2025, but otherwise it was another pedestrian performance for Williams. The right-hander has been tagged for at least four runs in three straight starts, and he'll carry a 5.88 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Atlanta.

Tinoco earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over the White Sox after tossing a scoreless ninth inning. He did not allow a hit or walk, nor did he record a strikeout.

With Calvin Faucher dispatched for the seventh inning, Tinoco got the call for the ninth to preserve the Marlins' two-run lead. Despite facing the heart of the White Sox's lineup, Tinoco needed just 10 pitches (eight strikes) to get through the frame and secure his first save since April 21. Tinoco is up to three saves on the season with a 3.65 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 8:5 across 12.1 innings.

Blalock (0-2) took the loss against San Diego on Saturday, allowing 12 runs on 13 hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 3.2 innings.

Blalock fell behind quickly, giving up five runs in the first frame. Things didn't get much better for him the rest of the way, as the Padres added a run in each of the second and third innings before tacking on eight more -- five of which were charged to Blalock -- in the fourth. The right-hander was clobbered for five extra-base hits (three homers and two doubles) and saw his ERA rise from an already-awful 8.03 to a hideous 12.94. He was promoted back up to the majors to join Colorado's rotation when Ryan Feltner (back) landed on the injured list May 2, but Blalock may not be long for the big-league squad given his results so far.
