Chandler didn't factor into the decision in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Brewers, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

It was a slightly better effort for Chandler after he failed to strike out a batter and coughed up four runs over four innings during his prior start, but the 23-year-old right-hander is still struggling to find some consistency. He heads into the All-Star break with a 4.77 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 85:55 K:BB through 94.1 innings.

Valdez went 4-for-8 with three home runs and eight RBI Saturday as the Pirates swept a doubleheader against the Brewers.

The rookie outfielder went yard twice in the matinee and produced the game-winning runs in the seventh inning with a grand slam off Aaron Ashby, then got the Bucs on the board in the fourth inning of the nightcap with a two-run shot off Shane Drohan. Valdez has now homered in three straight contests and is up to 10 long balls in his first 26 big-league games with 26 RBI and a dazzling .311/.370/.722 slash line.

The Diamondbacks announced that Troy was removed from Saturday's game against the Dodgers due to a right shoulder contusion.

Troy was lifted in the fifth inning after crashing into the center-field wall while completing a catch. The Diamondbacks haven't provided word on the severity of Troy's injury, so he can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Sunday's series finale. Troy went 0-for-1 with a walk before exiting the contest.

Soto recorded his 12th save of the season in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Brewers, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He failed to strike out a batter.

The veteran lefty collected his first save since June 16 as he attempts to remain in the late-inning picture for Pittsburgh. Despite Soto's clean effort Saturday, he's been tagged for runs in six of 13 appearances since the beginning of June, stumbling to an 8.76 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB over 12.1 innings during that span.

Diaz (elbow) allowed one hit in a scoreless inning for Single-A Ontario on Saturday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Diaz logged his first game action since undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies in his right elbow in late April. The veteran closer struck out the first two batters he faced before giving up a single, but that hitter was subsequently thrown out trying to steal a base. Diaz threw 11 pitches in the outing, and his fastball sat around 96-98 mph. He's expected to make his return to the Dodgers shortly after the All-Star break.

All five hits off Ashcraft went for extra bases, including homers by Jake Bauers in the second inning and Sal Frelick in the fifth. The right-hander has served up six long balls in his last three starts as he shows signs of fatigue -- Ashcraft's tossed 113.1 innings already this season, nearly matching the 118 innings he tossed all of last season between Triple-A and the majors. Despite the swoon before the All-Star break, he still sports a 3.49 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 128:27 K:BB on the year.

Chourio went 1-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases Saturday in the Brewers' 3-2 loss to the Pirates in the second game of a doubleheader.

After appearing as a pinch hitter in the Brewers' 7-6 loss in the first game of the day, Chourio was back in the lineup for Game 2. He singled in the first inning and promptly swiped second and third, but the star outfielder didn't come around to score after reaching on a fielder's choice in the fifth. Chourio snapped a 13-game streak without even attempting a steal, and through 61 contests on the season he's produced a .281/.335/.496 slash line with 13 home runs, eight stolen bases, 36 RBI and 42 runs.

Drohan (4-3) took the loss in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Pirates, giving up three runs on five hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

While he didn't get enough offensive support to prevent the Brewers from getting swept on the day, the rookie southpaw has delivered two straight quality starts heading into the All-Star break, solidifying his spot in the Brewers' injury-plagued rotation. Drohan has allowed three runs or fewer in five straight outings, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB over 27.1 innings. Saturday's outing was the first of his career with at least six innings and zero free passes.

Sproat didn't factor into the decision in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Pirates, giving up three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out three.

The 25-year-old right-hander also plunked three batters and uncorked a wild pitch, getting the hook after 83 pitches (51 strikes) and forcing the Brewers to go to their bullpen much earlier than they wanted in the twin bill. Sproat has failed to get an out in the fifth frame in three of his last five starts, but he's still managed to put together a 3.68 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB over 22 innings during that stretch. His spot in the rotation is precarious, but Sproat sees likely to stick around for a while given the current state of Milwaukee's rotation, which recently had Jacob Misiorowski (fatigue) and Kyle Harrison (elbow) miss starts.

Beeter (3-2) took the loss and blew the save Saturday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks in the eighth inning. He failed to record an out.

Washington summoned Beeter after Orlando Ribalta was able to get just one out in the eighth frame, but Beeter was unable to help extinguish the fire in a disastrous outing. The Nationals' much-maligned bullpen continues to search for answers in high-leverage spots, as its now blown a staggering 27 saves in 2026 already. Beeter still appears to remain one of the club's favorites for saves due to a lack of alternatives, holding a 3.62 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 31:18 K:BB with seven saves in 12 attempts over 27.1 frames.
