Patrick (2-4) took the loss Friday as the Brewers fell 3-0 to the Twins, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out two.

While the right-hander wasn't dominant, managing only six swinging strikes among his 88 pitches (59 total strikes), Patrick delivered his third quality start of the year. Brandon Woodruff (shoulder/ankle), Aaron Civale (hamstring) and Jose Quintana (shoulder) could all come off the IL before the end of the month, while prospect Jacob Misiorowski is knocking loudly on the door at Triple-A, so Patrick's hold on a rotation spot seems precarious despite a 3.35 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB through 48.1 innings this season. He's currently scheduled to make his next trip to the mound on the road next week in Pittsburgh.

Suarez (2-0) earned the win over the Pirates on Friday, giving up three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six batters across seven innings.

Suarez had a shutout going after five innings Friday, but things quickly changed after Alexander Canario hit a three-run homer in the sixth. Suarez left the game with the Phillies in a 3-1 hole, but a well-timed four-run rally from Philadelphia's offense in the bottom of the seventh allowed him to collect his second win of the season. The 29-year-old has now given up three earned runs in 14 innings across his last two starts and is lined up for a favorable matchup against Colorado's poor offense next week.

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 13-3 win over the White Sox. He also stole a base.

Hoerner contributed to the easy win from the No. 8 spot in the lineup, as he set a new single-game season high in runs scored and also stole his ninth base of the year. Despite sliding down toward the bottom of Chicago's order, the infielder maintains plenty of fantasy upside due to his ability to swipe bases. Hoerner recorded a total of 74 steals over the last two seasons.

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Friday's 13-3 win over the White Sox.

Kelly had cooled down a bit recently after a scorching hot start to year, as he came into Friday's contest batting just .182 with a .593 OPS in May. After the two-hit effort, the veteran catcher is now sitting with a strong .299 average and 1.068 OPS through 28 games overall. Kelly should continue to see plenty of playing time, but more regression is likely on the way based on his career numbers, and Miguel Amaya should remain heavily involved behind the plate for the Cubs as well.

Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5 with a home run, two total runs scored and six RBI in Friday's 13-3 win over the White Sox.

Crow-Armstrong batted first again with Ian Happ (oblique) on the injured list, and the young outfielder continued his impressive start to the season. He's sporting an .882 OPS and leads the team with 12 home runs as well as 13 stolen bases through 45 games. Crow-Armstrong is also now second on the club with 36 RBI after his six-RBI outburst. The 23-year-old is putting it all together in his second full MLB season.

Horton (2-0) collected the win in Friday's 13-3 victory over the White Sox after giving up three earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out two batters in five innings.

Miguel Vargas hit home runs off Horton in the first and third innings, but the rest of the White Sox's lineup was rather ineffective against the right-hander, and a six-run second inning from the Cubs' offense allowed Horton to leave the game after five frames with a 6-3 lead. The 23-year-old has now collected two wins in as many appearances in his young MLB career, but he'll carry a 6.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into his next start in Miami.

Benson started in right field and went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 5-4 win over the Guardians.

Benson took Tanner Bibee deep in the second inning with a three-run shot to put the Reds on the board early. It was his second straight game with a homer and three RBI. He's filling in for the injured Jake Fraley (calf) but is hitting like he could replace Fraley (.205 average, .678 OPS) as the lefty-hitting component in a right-field platoon. Since his call-up, Benson is 7-for-18 (.389) with two doubles, two homers, seven RBI, three walks, a steal and three runs scored over six contests.

Hays went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 win over Cleveland.

Hays' third-inning homer, which gave the Reds a 5-0 lead, turned out to be the game-winning hit. It was his sixth home run and first since coming off the injured list a week ago. After serving as the DH early in his return, Hays has played left field in three of his last four outings.

Friedl went 0-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 5-4 win over the Guardians.

Friedl returned to the lineup after missing two games with a wrist injury. He was back in the center field and at his usual leadoff spot.

Nelson will re-enter the Arizona rotation as a replacement for the injured Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) and is expected to make his next start Monday or Tuesday versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Nelson made a spot start for last Monday against the Mets in place of Corbin Burnes, but the former had since shifted back to a relief role this week after Burnes didn't require a stint on the injured list. During that start, Nelson tossed 30 pitches, and he's been able to stay fairly stretched out while working out of the bullpen for much of the season, throwing at least 50 pitches in four of his nine relief outings. Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that he's comfortable with Nelson working in the 65-to-70 pitch range for a couple of starts before ramping up beyond that, though it's not clear how long Nelson will be needed in the rotation. He currently holds a 5.13 ERA but a 3.93 xERA and a 16.1 K-BB% over 26.1 total innings on the season.
