Davis went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk Wednesday against the Reds.

Davis continues getting only sporadic playing time, but he does have at least one hit in each of his last three starts. He played a key role in Wednesday's win, driving in a run with a single in the fourth inning. Davis also applied a key tag at home plate to end the sixth frames to preserve a 2-1 lead for the Pirates. Joey Bart is likely to continue to get the majority of playing time behind the plate, but Davis is showing modest signs of potential.

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and two stolen bases during Wednesday's 5-1 win over Boston.

Lindor went 21 consecutive games without a stolen base before recording a steal Tuesday. The shortstop followed up the performance with a pair of steals Wednesday to bring his season total up to nine. Lindor also tagged Sean Newcomb for a homer in the ninth inning. In his last eight appearances, Lindor has gone 4-for-30 (.133) with three RBI, two runs scored and two doubles.

Baty went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a two-RBI single and a stolen base during Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Red Sox.

Baty broke a seventh-inning tie with a two-RBI single that plated Tyrone Taylor and Luis Torrens. The outing marked Baty's second game this season with more than two RBI, with his first being a five-RBI performance May 10. On the year, Baty is slashing .222/.247/.444 with five homers, 14 RBI and eight runs scored.

Machado went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's 14-0 loss to Toronto.

It was a solid bounce-back effort by Machado, who smacked his 15th double of the year after going 0-for-15 in his prior four games. The All-Star third baseman is still batting a torrid .377 with one home run, five doubles, seven RBI and 14 runs scored over 61 at-bats in May. Machado also has eight multi-hit games this month alone.

Megill didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Boston, allowing one run on four hits and one walk across 4.2 innings. He struck out 10.

It was a much-needed bounce-back start for Megill, who lasted just 2.2 innings his last time out and allowed four runs in each of his three previous starts. Megill tied his season high in strikeouts Wednesday despite failing to complete five innings, and he was pulled after just 85 pitches. Megill has thrown more than five frames in just three of his 10 starts. Across 48 innings this year, Megill owns a 3.56 ERA and a 66:23 K:BB.

Bailey went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Kansas City.

Bailey's home run drought ended Wednesday, as he hit his first homer of the season in his 138th plate appearance. The 26-year-old catcher has struggled at the plate, tallying a 30.5 percent strikeout rate and a meager .507 OPS overall. He hasn't recorded multiple hits in a game since May 6.

Ramos went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's 8-4 loss to Kansas City.

Ramos started the day 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts before stepping up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning and tagging Lucas Erceg for a two-run homer. The 25-year-old outfielder has been on a tear lately, sporting a seven-game hit streak and batting 23-for-51 (.451) with four homers and 14 RBI over his last 14 outings.

Webb (5-4) took the loss Wednesday against Kansas City, allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits and no walks with five strikeouts across four innings.

Webb failed to complete five innings for the first time this season, snapping a streak of three consecutive starts of at least seven frames. The 28-year-old also surrendered a season-high 10 hits. Although there aren't many positive takeaways from the outing, Webb didn't walk a batter for the first time since Apr. 18. On the year, Webb owns a 2.67 ERA and a 74:16 K:BB over 67.1 innings. He's lined up to face the Tigers in Detroit early next week.

Gonzales (ankle) hasn't appeared in any rehab games for Triple-A Indianapolis since Sunday after being hit by a pitch on his right hand, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Gonzales was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, but the transaction seemingly wasn't reflective of any major concern about the hand issue being a significant concern for the 25-year-old infielder, who has been on the shelf since March 28 due to a non-displaced left ankle fracture. X-rays on Gonzales' hand came back negative, and he's expected to be reassessed Thursday before the Pirates decide whether the soreness and swelling in his hand has subsided enough for him to return to game action at Indianapolis. Given the length of his absence due to the ankle injury, Gonzales will likely need at least a few more games in the minors to stack up at-bats and regain his timing at the dish before the Pirates activate him. He's first eligible for reinstatement next Tuesday.

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Holderman has been diagnosed with right thumb tenosynovitis and is scheduled to visit a specialist in Arizona next week, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Pittsburgh had initially labeled Holderman's injury as thumb inflammation when he was placed on the injured list Tuesday, but follow-up tests revealed that the right-hander is actually dealing with tenosynovitis, a condition Tomczyk said is "very debilitating for anybody that has a career in gripping and throwing a baseball." The upcoming visit with a specialist should shed more light on a treatment plan for Holderman, but based on Tomczyk's foreboding comments, the 29-year-old reliever appears likely to be sidelined beyond the minimum 15 days.
