The Reds placed Hays on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 29, due to a left foot contusion.

The veteran outfielder fouled a pitch off his left foot Wednesday and is headed to the injured list for the third time this season. This latest issue doesn't appear to be a serious concern, so it's possible Hays will be ready to be activated when first eligible June 8. Jake Fraley (calf) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Ozuna went 2-for-7 with three walks and two runs scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader split with the Phillies.

The veteran DH reached base multiple times in each contest, extending his on-base streak to 11 games in the process. During that stretch, Ozuna's slashing .333/.480/.564 with three homers, six RBI and eight runs, and his current .428 OBP on the season would shatter his previous career high over a full campaign of .378, a mark he set last year. Ozuna did post a .431 OBP over 60 games in the abbreviated pandemic season of 2020.

Castellanos went 5-for-8 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's doubleheader split with Atlanta.

After going 4-for-4 in the opening game, Castellanos scored the Phillies' second run in the nightcap after smacking a one-out double in the eighth inning. The 33-year-old hasn't been hitting for much power -- he has just four home runs this year, and only one in his last 40 games. However, he's gone 8-for-18 (.444) in his previous five contests. Overall, Castellanos is slashing .288/.329/.409 with 29 RBI, 25 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 234 plate appearances this year.

Albies went 2-for-8 with a home run, three RBI and a second run scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader with the Phillies.

After extending his hit streak to 13 games in the opening game, Albies launched his first home run since May 3 in the nightcap, a two-run blast off Zack Wheeler in the fourth inning that extended Atlanta's lead to 4-0. Albies is 18-for-52 (.346) during the streak, as he looks to have bounced back from a slow start this year. The second baseman is slashing .241/.307/.361 with six homers, 22 RBI, 29 runs scored and five steals across 238 plate appearances this season.

Murphy went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two walks in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with the Phillies.

Murphy got Atlanta on the board in the sixth inning with an RBI single before cutting the deficit to 4-3 with a 412-foot solo blast off Matt Strahm in the eighth, his ninth homer this season. It was a much-needed effort from the 30-year-old catcher, who'd gone just 1-for-13 over his previous five games while splitting catching duties with Drake Baldwin. Overall, Murphy's slashing .228/.333/.500 with 20 RBI and 14 runs scored across 132 plate appearances this season.

Marchan went 1-for-2 with a homer, three RBI and an additional run scored in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with Atlanta.

Marchan opened the scoring Thursday with his first home run of the season, a two-run shot off AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) in the third inning. Marchan would later drive in what would prove to be the game-winning run in the eighth, when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The 26-year-old backstop has seen limited playing time behind J.T. Realmuto this season, slashing just .152/.317/.242 with four runs scored and five RBI across 41 plate appearances.

Finnegan (shoulder) struck out a batter and allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk in an inning of relief during Thursday's 9-3 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Finnegan made his first appearance in a week, as a bout of shoulder fatigue prompted the Nationals to give him some rest. The right-hander might have been a candidate to pitch earlier in the series, but a 9-1 loss Tuesday and a 9-0 win Wednesday presented no high-leverage opportunities. Thursday's appearance was fairly pressure-free as well, coming in the bottom of the 10th inning after Washington put up seven runs in the top of the frame. Finnegan should continue to dominate save opportunities for Washington after converting 15 of 18 chances prior to his brief absence, although his name will likely circulate in trade rumors once again this summer with the Nats far from playoff contention.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Mariners.

It was Lowe's first multi-hit game since May 6, and he has just one extra-base hit over his last nine games. The veteran first baseman is hitting only .211 with two RBI and two runs scored during this period. Even with the power outage -- he has only two long balls in May -- Lowe has managed to log at least one hit in seven of these nine outings.

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Mariners.

It's been a cold stretch at the dish for Abrams, who got just his second hit in his last six games Thursday. The speedy shortstop has gone 2-for-24 with no RBI during this span, and he hasn't stolen a base since May 15. The month of May has been kind to Abrams overall, however, as he's batting .277 with 12 extra-base hits, eight RBI, four steals and 21 runs scored through his last 101 at-bats.

Gore didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Mariners after allowing four hits and no walks in six scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

It was Gore's first scoreless start since his first appearance of the season, and he racked up an impressive 18 whiffs. The left-hander has fanned at least eight in six of his last eight outings, during which he boasts a 2.98 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 69:15 K:BB covering 45.1 innings, and he's worked fewer than five frames on a lone occasion in 2025. Gore is the first pitcher in MLB this season to reach triple digits in strikeouts with 101, and he has offered a fairly safe fantasy floor in most instances this year, but he's in for a tough test versus the Cubs in his next scheduled start.
