The Giants placed Hicks on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right toe inflammation, retroactive to Monday.

Hicks has given up two earned runs in 3.1 innings since moving to the bullpen, but he'll now be unavailable for at least the next two weeks due to his toe. Sean Hjelle was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the open spot on the Giants' pitching staff.

Perez (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list Monday to start against the Pirates, Kevin Barral of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Perez has turned in a 1.96 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 18.1 innings between Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville during his rehab assignment. His eighth and final minor-league outing is set to come Tuesday, and the Marlins will keep him on a five-day rest schedule leading up to his first MLB start of the year. The 22-year-old hasn't stood on a big-league mound since the 2023 campaign, during which he posted a 3.15 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 91.1 frames (19 starts).

Baty isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Baty will get a chance to rest Tuesday after going 1-for-4 during Monday's series opener. While he sits, Ronny Mauricio will get the nod at the hot corner and bat seventh.

Diaz isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Tuesday marks the third time in San Diego's last four games that Martin Maldonado has started over Diaz, though the Padres typically still find a way to get Diaz a plate appearance or two every day.

Sheets (head) will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Sheets missed a start Monday after colliding with the outfield wall Sunday, though he appeared as a pinch hitter during Monday's game. Now fully recovered, he'll aim to bounce back after going 2-for-18 across his last seven games.

The Mets called up Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

As expected, Mauricio is getting a promotion as Mark Vientos (hamstring) heads to the 10-day injured list. Mauricio struggled a bit initially after recovering from multiple knee surgeries, as he hit below the Mendoza Line for Single-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton. Following the initial struggles, he has been stellar for Triple-A Syracuse with a 1.382 OPS, three homers and four stolen bases across 39 plate appearances. The infielder is starting at third base for the Mets on Tuesday and is batting seventh, but his role with the big-league club may be limited.

Wade (hand) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade made an early exit from Monday's game after getting hit by a pitch, and he'll take a day off Tuesday to give his hand extra time to heal. Casey Schmitt will fill in at first base and bat ninth.

Betts (toe) is starting at shortstop and batting second Tuesday against the Mets, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Betts has been sidelined nearly a week due to a fracture on the tip of a toe on his left foot, but he's apparently ready to rejoin the lineup after missing four games. The 32-year-old wasn't exactly in his best form leading up to the absence, as he's gone 4-for-25 with three walks in his past six contests.

The Mets optioned Kranick to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Kranick has been effective in relief for New York this season, turning in a 3.51 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 33.1 innings. However, he'll end up as the roster casualty necessary to add Brandon Waddell, who is capable of giving the Mets much more length out of the bullpen.

The Mets placed Vientos on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Vientos injured his right hamstring in the top of the 10th inning during Monday's 4-3 victory over the Dodgers. He grounded out, and he was unable to make it out of the batter's box and was seen grabbing his hamstring as he retreated to the dugout. With the 25-year-old heading to the injured list Tuesday, the Mets called up Ronny Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse.
