McLean took a no-decision against the White Sox on Sunday, allowing no runs on one hit and four walks in six innings. He struck out six.

McLean battled his control again Sunday, issuing four free passes for a second consecutive start, but he still managed to shut down the Chicago offense. The 25-year-old right-hander has spun at least six innings while yielding two runs or fewer nine times in his past 10 outings. He'll be aiming to further improve on his 3.21 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 168:58 K:BB over 148.2 innings for the campaign in his next scheduled appearance, which is set to come at home versus the Astros.

The Marlins are expected to activate Stowers (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Stowers has been out since sustaining a Grade 1 left hamstring strain Aug. 9 against the Angels. The 28-year-old was able to make a swift recovery and will rejoin the Marlins without having required a minor-league rehab assignment beforehand. He should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' primary first baseman upon returning from the IL.

Kent (0-2) took the loss against the Marlins on Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Two of Kent's hits allowed went for extra bases Sunday, and he couldn't escape Miami's two-run fifth inning. The rookie left-hander hasn't fared well in his first taste of big-league action, conceding at least three runs while failing to work into the sixth frame in each of his first three starts. He's set to take a poor 8.03 ERA, 2.11 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB over 12.1 innings into a home rematch with the Marlins.

The Marlins are expected to option De Los Santos to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

The transaction will be made official Monday and will clear the way for Kyle Stowers' (hamstring) return from the 10-day injured list. After being recalled from Jacksonville on Saturday, De Los Santos went 1-for-2 at the plate during his two-day stay in the big leagues.

Junk did a fine job of keeping the ball on the ground, inducing seven groundouts Sunday, but the two hits allowed both went for extra bases. The 30-year-old right-hander hasn't exhibited much strikeout upside lately, fanning two or fewer in four consecutive starts, though he has given up two runs or fewer in six straight outings. Junk is set to bring a middling 4.25 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 68:26 K:BB over 97.1 innings into a road rematch with Washington.

The Brewers recalled Naylor from Triple-A Nashville to serve as the 27th player for Sunday's Little League Classic against Atlanta, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 26-year-old was acquired from Cleveland ahead of the summer trade deadline and will have the chance to make his Milwaukee debut Sunday in Williamsport. Naylor has gotten off to a hot start at Nashville, posting an .895 OPS with three homers in just 10 games after posting a .225/.344/.438 slash line in 45 contests at Triple-A Columbus prior to the trade.

Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Lauer will be available out of the bullpen going forward, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The veteran left-hander has started in 11 of his 12 appearances for the Dodgers and has a 3.76 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB across 67 innings, but the return of Tyler Glasnow (back) from the 60-day injured list during the upcoming weekend will allow the club to bolster its bullpen by changing Lauer's role. Shohei Ohtani (knee) could also be ready to resume making starts on the mound in the first week of September, and Lauer would be a logical option to piggyback the four-time MVP as he ramps up his pitching workload.

Bericoto exited Sunday's contest against the Red Sox in the sixth inning with a right knee injury, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bericoto suffered the injury while trying to track down a fly ball in foul territory, torquing his right knee after making contact with the wall. The outfielder went 1-for-2 with an RBI before his departure, and he's expected to undergo additional evaluation.

Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Smith (neck) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

The veteran backstop recently progressed to taking live batting practice and has now been cleared for game action. Smith has been shelved since early June due to neck inflammation, and he could be ready to rejoin the Dodgers when MLB rosters expand Sept. 1, which would give him time to play up to seven games with Oklahoma City.

Adames suffered a left elbow injury in Sunday's contest against the Red Sox, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Adames was removed from the game in the fifth inning, and the belief is that he sustained the injury in the first inning while sliding awkwardly into home plate. The 30-year-old finished his day having gone 1-for-3, and he's notched at least one hit in nine of his last 11 contests, batting .333 with three home runs, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base over that stretch. The Giants should have better idea of the severity of the injury after Adames gets a more thorough examination.
