The Giants placed Bailey on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a neck strain, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After sitting out Tuesday's contest due to neck spasms, Bailey has now been diagnosed with a strain in his neck and will be forced to miss at least the next week as a result. Logan Porter was selected from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move, though Andrew Knizner is likely to serve as San Francisco's primary catcher until Bailey returns.

The Giants selected Porter's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

With Patrick Bailey headed to the 10-day injured list due to a neck strain, Porter will join the big club and serve as the Giants' backup catcher behind Andrew Knizner. Porter signed a minor-league contract with the Giants in November and has a .669 OPS with two steals, two home runs and 13 RBI across 161 plate appearances in Triple-A this season. He last saw major-league action with the Royals in 2023, when he went 6-for-31 (.194) with one home run and three RBI in 11 regular-season games.

Donovan told reporters Wednesday that an MRI revealed a sprained capsule in the joint of his left big toe, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Donovan added that going on the injured list is a "worst-case [scenario]" and appeared optimistic that an IL stint isn't necessary. Still, his availability for the Cardinals' upcoming four-game road series against the Brewers is in question and would open the door for Nolan Gorman to see more work at the keystone. Donovan has gone 7-for-35 (.200) with four runs scored and two RBI since the beginning of June.

Bailey (neck) is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bailey is out of the Giants' starting nine for a second consecutive game due to neck spasms. Andrew Knizner will start behind home plate and bat ninth while forming a battery with Robbie Ray.

Schwellenbach (5-4) earned the win against the Brewers on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over nine innings.

Schwellenbach allowed runs in the second and eighth innings but still went the distance for his first career complete game. He was highly efficient, throwing 76 of 105 pitches for strikes while generating 15 whiffs. The 25-year-old has now worked at least six frames in seven straight outings, six of which have been quality starts. He'll carry a 3.11 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 84:14 K:BB across 89.2 innings into a home matchup with the Mets next week.

Taylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Taylor will head to the bench for the second time in the Mets' last three matchups versus right-handed pitching. Though he's the best defensive center fielder on the roster, Taylor could nonetheless be at risk of losing out on regular starts against righties if the Mets are keen on making room in the lineup for the more potent bats of Jeff McNeil, Ronny Mauricio and Jared Young.

Torrens will start at catcher and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The 29-year-old will get his third start behind the plate in four games, but he'll see his playing time dip once Francisco Alvarez (personal) returns from the paternity list, likely no later than Friday. Torrens has been productive enough when called upon this season, slashing .241/.328/.370 with a home run and 13 RBI over 122 plate appearances.

McMahon is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Giants.

The left-handed-hitting McMahon will get a breather as the Giants send southpaw Robbie Ray to the hill. Orlando Arcia will hold down third base and bat sixth for the Rockies.

Hays underwent another MRI on his injured left foot Wednesday that came back negative, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

While he doesn't have any fractures, Hays is dealing with persistent discomfort due to a deep bone bruise. The initial hope was that Hays could return before the end of this week's series in Cleveland, but now his status is up in the air. He will be re-evaluated Friday.

Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Phillies.

Hoerner delivered his second straight two-hit performance to wrap up the series against Philadelphia. The infielder is once again providing a strong batting average with little power, as he's now hitting .288 with no home runs and a .693 OPS. Hoerner's best fantasy asset remains his speed, as he has 13 stolen bases this season in 16 attempts, and he should also be able to score a decent number of runs as part of a potent Chicago lineup.
