Donovan (toe) isn't part of the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.

Donovan is absent from the starting nine for a third straight game but appears to be making progress in his recovery from a sprained left big toe. The 28-year-old participated in a light pregame workout Thursday and was said to be feeling "a lot better." Nolan Gorman will bat seventh and play second base in place of Donovan. Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Donovan is pushing for a return this weekend, but the Cardinals are willing to give him until Tuesday before placing him on the injured list.

Siri suffered a setback in his recovery from a fractured tibia and has been shut down from all baseball activities, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Siri fractured his tibia April 12 versus the Athletics and still hasn't begun a rehab assignment after initially being given a recovery timeline of 8-to-12 weeks. The Mets may not see Siri again until after the All-Star break next month. Tyrone Taylor has been manning center field for New York since Siri's injury.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Martinez (elbow) is expected to be sidelined for at least 12-to-13 months, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The right-hander is still headed for a second opinion on the UCL sprain that sent him to the injured list earlier this week, but the initial diagnosis is apparently severe enough to safely rule him out for the next year. Martinez's absence could extend through the entirety of the 2026 campaign if traditional Tommy John surgery is necessary. Shelby Miller picked up his seventh save of the season Wednesday, and it appears he'll get the first crack at taking over as Arizona's closer.

Marsh (elbow) is starting in center field and batting ninth Friday against the Blue Jays.

Marsh sat out Wednesday's contest after hyperextending his left elbow Tuesday, but he's ready to retake the field for Philadelphia after Thursday's team off day. The 27-year-old is off to a strong start in June, having gone 7-for-17 with three walks, a double and a stolen base in nine games.

Chapman is visiting a specialist Friday regarding the sprained ligaments in his right hand, and he could be sidelined at least through the end of June, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.

The third baseman landed on the injured list Tuesday and has already indicated that he's likely to be sidelined beyond the 10-day minimum. Chapman said he hopes to return before the All-Star break, and Friday's visit could determine whether that's a realistic possibility. Casey Schmitt has made three straight starts at third base for the Giants with Chapman on the shelf.

McGuire is starting at catcher and batting ninth in Friday's game against the Pirates.

Carson Kelly, who is mired in a 4-for-37 slump, is getting the Friday afternoon contest off. McGuire has been hot lately, going 5-for-12 with a double and two RBI across his last three games, but he gets a tricky matchup against Pittsburgh ace Paul Skenes.

Ritter is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta.

The Rockies recalled the 24-year-old on June 6 after placing Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) on the IL. Ritter has started at shortstop in all six of Colorado's games since, logging a hit each contest with a pair of triples and four RBI. He'll get a well-earned night off Friday as Orlando Arcia fills in at short.

The Mets recalled Kranick from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Kranick made the Opening Day roster but was sent down to Syracuse on June 3 after logging a 3.51 ERA across 33.1 innings for the Mets. The 27-year-old returns to the big-league club Friday, slotting into a middle-relief role as he takes the roster spot of Kodai Senga (hamstring).

The Mets placed Senga (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Friday.

Senga left his start Thursday in the sixth inning after straining his right hamstring. Reliever Max Kranick was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. Senga will be eligible to return June 28, but it's unclear if he'll need more than the minimum 15 days to recover.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Pittsburgh.

Kelly has been slumping at the plate recently, going 4-for-37 (.108) with three runs scored over his last 11 games. He'll get a day off Friday against Paul Skenes and the Pirates, allowing for Reese McGuire to draw a start behind the dish.
