Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Padres.

Cruz smacked the first homer off Mason Miller all season, breaking a 0-0 tie in the top of the ninth inning. This was Cruz's third homer in his last seven games, though he's gone just 5-for-23 in that span since returning from a fractured left hand. The speedy outfielder is batting .260 with an .839 OPS, 17 homers, 22 stolen bases, 52 RBI, 49 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple over 71 contests. Even with the significant time missed, Cruz is nearing a career high in homers, needing five more to set a new high mark.

Montgomery walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Padres.

Montgomery's scoreless streak is up to 11.1 innings, and he has a 22:3 K:BB in that span. He's pitched consecutive days, so he may not be available if a save chance arises Wednesday. For the year, Montgomery is at a 3.19 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 87:22 K:BB while tallying six saves, nine holds and two blown saves over 53.2 innings.

Houser will undergo an MRI on his right arm Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Houser was pulled from his start in the second inning due to arm tightness, and the results of his MRI will help determine whether he needs to spend time on the injured list. An IL stint for Houser would be a crucial blow to a Giants rotation that already lost Carson Whisenhunt on Monday to a UCL tear.

Skenes allowed three hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Tuesday.

Skenes had gone five starts without reaching the six-inning mark, and he allowed a total of 18 runs (17 earned) over 23.2 innings in that span. This outing was a return to the form that's expected of the Pirates' ace, though he was again lacking in strikeouts, and he didn't get enough run support to pick up a win. Skenes is now at a 3.79 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 175:41 K:BB through 145 innings over 27 starts this year. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Giants.

King allowed five hits, issued two walks and hit a batter while striking out seven over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Pirates on Tuesday.

King outlasted Paul Skenes in this pitching duel, but the Pirates would get the last laugh when Oneil Cruz took Mason Miller deep in the ninth inning. This was a fourth straight quality start for King, who has allowed seven runs (six earned) over 25.2 innings in that span. For the season, he's at a 3.23 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 135:60 K:BB through 156 innings over 27 starts. The veteran right-hander's next outing is projected to be in Cincinnati.

Robert went 2-for-4 with a solo homer during Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over Milwaukee.

Robert gave the Mets a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when he smacked the second pitch he saw from Chad Patrick to left-center field for a 390-foot solo homer. It was the 10th long ball of the season for Robert, six of which have come over his last 14 games as he flashes his power at the plate over the final weeks of the regular season.

Lawlar was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit on the head by a pitch, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Lawlar was taken out of the game immediately after taking a 98.5-mph fastball off his helmet in the eighth inning. He managed to get up and off the field under his own power, though he will likely be evaluated for a concussion. Ryan Waldschmidt would be in line to start more often in center field if Lawlar has to miss time.

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during the Mets' 3-2 extra-inning win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Tuesday was a low-scoring affair, but Lindor finally put the Mets on the board in the fifth inning with a solo long ball off southpaw Kyle Harrison. It was Lindor's fifth home run since July 31 and 13th of the year, and he'll need to show off more of that power over the next few weeks in order to reach the 20-homer threshold for a sixth consecutive year and for the ninth time in his major-league career. Lindor has a .756 OPS with three steals, 33 RBI and 25 extra-base hits over 327 plate appearances this season.

Thornton allowed one run on seven hits while striking out four across six innings in a no-decision during Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Brewers.

Thornton came away with his sixth quality start in 10 outings this season, with his lone blemish Tuesday coming on a Luis Lara RBI single in the fourth inning. It was the fourth time this season that Thornton did not give up a run in a start, and through the first 10 starts of his major-league career, the 24-year-old southpaw boasts a 2.88 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 56.1 innings. He's lined up to take on the Astros at home this weekend.

Harrison did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's game against the Mets, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings.

Harrison was able to maneuver out of a bases-loaded first inning to keep the Mets off the board through the first four innings of Tuesday's start. He was on track to record his third shutout in his last four starts, but those hopes were dashed by a Francisco Lindor solo homer in the fifth frame. It was still a nice performance from Harrison, who finished with 13 whiffs and 63 strikes on 90 pitches. He'll take a 2.79 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 103.1 innings into his next start, which is lined up for next week on the road against the Cubs, the first of what projects to be a two-start week for Harrison.
