Woodruff is expected to make his next start Monday versus the Diamondbacks, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.

Woodruff was available on four days' rest to start Sunday's series finale versus the Giants, but because he's received at least five days of rest ahead of all but one of his eight starts since being activated from the 60-day injured list July 6, the Brewers apparently aren't keen on deviating from that plan. He'll tentatively line up for two starts during the upcoming week, with his second outing likely to come next weekend in Toronto.

Colorado transferred Darnell (hip) to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The Rockies placed Darnell on the 15-day IL on Friday due to left hip inflammation, an injury that interim manager Warren Schaeffer acknowledged that the reliever had been dealing with "for a while," per MLB.com. While the Rockies haven't revealed that Darnell is dealing with anything more significant than swelling in the hip, the club evidently determined that the right-hander wasn't on track to return before the end of the season. Darnell will close his rookie campaign with a 3.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 5:7 K:BB in 11.2 innings out of the Colorado bullpen.

The Rockies optioned Gilbreath to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Gilbreath's stay with the big club lasted just two days, with the reliever making his lone appearance in Friday's 9-0 loss to Pittsburgh. He'll cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander McCade Brown, who was called up from Double-A Hartford to start Sunday's series finale versus the Pirates.

The Rockies selected Brown's contract from Double-A Hartford ahead of his scheduled start Sunday in Pittsburgh.

The 25-year-old right-hander will bypass the Triple-A level to make his MLB debut, taking over the rotation spot that belonged to Austin Gomber. Brown had his development stalled after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023, but he's enjoyed good health in 2025 and has accrued a 2.47 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 105:30 K:BB in 76.2 innings between Hartford and High-A Spokane. Though he'll benefit from a debut in a pitcher-friendly venue against a weak Pirates lineup, Brown's lack of high-level experience renders him a risky streaming option, even in NL-only leagues.

Atlanta placed Bummer on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to left shoulder inflammation.

The left-hander threw 1.1 scoreless innings Saturday against the Mets, which is presumably when he suffered the injury since that was his first appearance in nearly a week. Bummer will be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 8, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point.

Ritter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 15, Ritter had started nine straight contests, going 10-for-32 with five RBI and four runs. Unless he's used off the bench Sunday, Ritter will put his 10-game hitting streak on hold in the series finale. Tyler Freeman will spell him at second base.

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

The veteran right-hander was optioned to Gwinnett on Tuesday but will quickly return to Atlanta with Aaron Bummer (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Stratton has given up seven earned runs over 8.2 innings in the majors this year and should fill a low-leverage relief role.

Hayes went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Hayes extended his hit streak to seven straight games and has reached base safely in 11 consecutive starts. It's an encouraging stretch for the third baseman, who got off to a slow start after joining the Reds at the trade deadline, batting .167 (5-for-30) over his first nine games in Cincinnati. Over the subsequent 12 contests, Hayes is slashing .378/.465/.649 with seven extra-base hits, three RBI and nine runs scored. While the improvement is welcome, past history suggests Hayes is closer to the hitter he showed during that initial stretch for the Reds.

Atlanta recalled Suero from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

The right-hander was optioned to Gwinnett in late July and will make his return to Atlanta a month later. Suero has surrendered six earned runs over five frames in the majors this year but has a 1.39 ERA in 42 relief appearances at Triple-A.

Castro went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Angels.

Castro started at third base to give Matt Shaw a breather, then shifted to center field later in the contest. The veteran utility player got off to a slow start with the Cubs after coming over at the trade deadline, but he now has a hit in three of his last four games, during which time he's batting .308. Castro remains an inconsistent fantasy performer, though he can deliver some power and speed when he's locked in.
