  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Taking seat Monday

Hoskins is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Pirates.

It's a routine day off for Hoskins, who had started each of the previous 14 games. Jake Bauers will play first base and bat eighth for the Brewers in the series opener.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Sitting in second straight game

Frazier is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Frazier has served as a strong-side platoon player in left field for the past two weeks, but after posting a .513 OPS during that stretch, he could be in danger of moving into a utility role. He'll be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher (Chad Patrick), affording Tommy Pham another start in left field after he went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

  • Jordan Walker RF | STL

Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Out of lineup versus right-hander

Walker is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

It's righty Ben Brown on the hill for the Cubs, marking the third time in six games versus right-handers since Walker returned from the injured list that he's been out of the lineup. He was also absent from the lineup once over that span against a left-handed opener. Alec Burleson is in right field and Nolan Gorman is at designated hitter for the Cardinals.

  • Cubs' Michael Fulmer: Summoned to big leagues

The Cubs selected Fulmer's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Fulmer will begin his second stint in the big leagues with the Cubs, after he previously made 58 relief appearances for the club during the 2023 season. He underwent UCL revision surgery shortly after that season and didn't pitch in 2024 before catching on with the Red Sox. After being booted off the Red Sox's 40-man roster and electing free agency in April, Fulmer reunited with the Cubs on a minor-league deal and pitched effectively at the Triple-A level. He'll earn another look in the Chicago bullpen after he logged a 2.96 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 32:11 K:BB in 24.1 innings with Iowa.

  • Roddery Munoz RP | HOU

Cardinals' Roddery Munoz: Back up with big club

The Cardinals recalled Munoz from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

He's swapping in for Gordon Graceffo on the active roster as the Cardinals add a fresh bullpen arm. Munoz has made five relief appearances for St. Louis this season, yielding six runs with a 7:3 K:BB over 5.2 innings.

  • Cardinals' Gordon Graceffo: Sent back to minors

The Cardinals optioned Graceffo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Graceffo tossed two scoreless relief innings Sunday against the Reds during his lone day with the big club. Roddery Munoz is taking Graceffo's roster spot as the Cardinals add a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Nate Pearson RP | HOU

Cubs' Nate Pearson: Sent back to Triple-A

The Cubs optioned Pearson to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.

Pearson's stay with the Cubs lasted just two days, with the right-hander getting sent back to Iowa after he was roughed up for five earned runs on five hits and two walks over two innings while mopping up in Sunday's 14-6 loss to the Mariners. Chicago called up right-hander Michael Fulmer from Iowa to take Pearson's spot in the bullpen.

  • Diamondbacks' Aramis Garcia: Removed from 40-man roster

The Diamondbacks designated Garcia for assignment Monday.

The signing of veteran catcher James McCann was made official Monday, so Garcia's presence is no longer required. Garcia accepted an outright assignment by the Diamondbacks earlier this month and could do so again, assuming he clears waivers.

  • James McCann C | ARI

Diamondbacks' James McCann: Gets MLB deal from Arizona

The Diamondbacks signed McCann to a one-year contract Monday.

The veteran backstop will share catching duties with Jose Herrera while Gabriel Moreno (hand) is on the injured list. Before Atlanta released him over the weekend, McCann had played exclusively in the minors in 2025, slashing .305/.345/.510 over 165 plate appearances. The 35-year-old owns a .673 OPS over parts of 11 seasons in the big leagues but probably offers more value as a game caller and a defender than as a hitter at this stage of his career.

  • Mark Vientos 1B | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Will play more rehab games

Vientos (hamstring) will remain on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse through at least Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets had left open the possibility of Vientos rejoining them for their four-game series against Atlanta that begins Monday, but it now appears likely that the earliest he will return is Friday in Pittsburgh for the start of a road trip. Vientos has missed most of June with a right hamstring strain and has gone 2-for-17 with a double and 3:0 K:BB in four rehab games with Syracuse.
