Church went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

Church has logged an extra-base hit in each of the last three games in which he's logged an at-bat. The outfielder continues to see strong-side platoon usage in center field. He's hitting .243 with a .663 OPS, 10 home runs, nine steals, 44 RBI, 43 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples over 114 contests this season.

Torres went 3-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

This was Torres' first multi-hit performance in August. The arrival of top prospect Joshua Baez has taken a chunk out of Torres' usage in left field over the last week-plus, though he's still an option at second base as well. Overall, Torres is hitting .252 with a .701 OPS, four home runs, two steals, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, one double and two triples across 136 plate appearances in the majors this season.

Gorman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

Gorman has started both games since his recall Tuesday, though his homer Wednesday is his lone hit in seven at-bats. It looks like he'll at least pose a threat to Blaze Jordan's playing time at third base, with the duo likely settling into a platoon situation, which benefits the left-handed-hitting Gorman. For the season, Gorman is batting .192 with a .602 OPS, eight homers, 27 RBI, 20 runs scored, four doubles and no stolen bases over 64 games in the majors.

McGreevy allowed seven runs on 10 hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Wednesday.

McGreevy struggled immediately after the All-Star break, but he looked to be back on track in August until this outing. He allowed all seven runs in the first two innings, matching his season high for runs allowed in a start. The 26-year-old is now at a 3.86 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 98:38 K:BB through 142.1 innings over 26 starts this season. McGreevy is a risky fantasy option for his next start, which is projected to be on the road versus the Dodgers.

Frelick went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Frelick made an immediate impact in his first game since July 17, driving in two runs with a single in the second inning and reaching base a season-high four times overall. The outfielder had been sidelined for over a month due to a shoulder strain. Prior to the injury, Frelick had struggled to a .630 OPS with four homers, 14 doubles, 34 RBI, 33 runs scored and six stolen bases across 90 games, making Wednesday's three-hit return an encouraging start.

The Reds placed Friedl on outright waivers Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

With the Reds most likely out of contention for a postseason appearance, the team will now attempt to shed payroll for the final month of the season by exposing Friedl to waivers. The 31-year-old has endured the worst season of his career up to this point, batting just .158 with a .476 OPS through 253 plate appearances. It's unlikely that another team will be willing to take on the $700,000 remaining on his contract for minimal production, so Friedl will presumably clear waivers and remain with the Reds for the rest of the year.

Turang went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Mets

Turang provided a major blow in the fourth inning, taking Robert Stock deep for a three-run homer. It was Turang's first long ball of August, a month in which he's struggled to a .188 average with an 11:25 BB:K across 20 games. Despite the recent slump, Turang has put together another productive season overall, slashing .257/.353/.434 with 17 homers, 28 doubles, three triples, 78 RBI, 79 runs scored and 18 stolen bases across 123 games.

The Reds placed Suarez on outright waivers Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

The Reds signed Suarez to a $15 million deal during the offseason in an effort to bolster their offense and contend for a postseason berth. However, with a month remaining in the regular season, Cincinnati sits in last place in the NL Central at 63-71 -- nine games back of the final wild-card spot. The team will now attempt to save some money by making Suarez available to the other 29 teams via waivers, but the 35-year-old is not a lock to be claimed after slashing just .208/.295/.410 across 410 plate appearances this season while still carrying a $3 million price tag for the rest of the year.

Murphy went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Dodgers.

Murphy finished a triple shy of the cycle, with the highlight coming when he took Eric Lauer deep for a solo homer in the sixth inning for his first long ball of the season. The three-hit performance was a season best after Murphy failed to record a multi-hit showing in his first 13 games of the season. The catcher is batting just 8-for-34 (.235) across 10 games since returning from the injured list.

Johnston went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Wednesday in the 13-1 win against the Nationals.

Johnston pulled a Will Dion pitch to deep right field to start a rally of 13 unanswered runs for Colorado. This was Johnston's first deep ball since June 14, as he's been scuffling at the plate since the All-Star break with a .221 batting average and 12:4 K:BB in 22 games, including Wednesday.
