Conforto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

After starting each of the last three games while the Dodgers faced right-handed starters, the left-handed-hitting Conforto will head back to the bench Wednesday with the Brewers sending southpaw Jose Quintana to the hill. Esteury Ruiz will get the nod in left field in the series finale, and he could end up serving as the main platoon partner for Conforto while Enrique Hernandez (elbow) is on the injured list.

The Dodgers optioned Diaz to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Diaz's first stint with the Dodgers lasted only one day, and he did not make an appearance. The reliever's removal from the active roster frees up a spot for Tyler Glasnow (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.

Los Angeles optioned reliever Alexis Diaz to Triple-A Oklahoma City to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Glasnow, who will make his first start for the Dodgers since April 27 after he was sidelined for more than two months while recovering from right shoulder inflammation. Over his three rehab starts at Triple-A, Glasnow turned in an 8.31 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in 8.2 innings, but he at least appears to be close to fully stretched out after tossing 78 pitches in his final outing with Oklahoma City last Thursday. With the All-Star break on the horizon, however, the Dodgers may not be keen on pushing Glasnow past the 90-pitch mark Wednesday.

Bivens allowed two earned runs on two hits -- including one home run -- over 1.1 innings in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Phillies.

Bivens entered the game with two outs and a runner on third base in the sixth, retiring the first batter he faced to end the inning. However, the right-hander gave up a single and a home run in the seventh. Over his last 10 appearances, Bivens owns a 4.02 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB across 15.2 innings.

Edman (toe) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Edman has missed the last three games while battling a right pinkie toe injury but feels well enough to give it a go in Wednesday's series finale. The plan is for Edman to eventually settle in at third base while Max Muncy (knee) is sidelined, but he will play second base for the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Lee went 2-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Phillies.

Lee hit two singles in the victory, marking his second multi-hit effort this month. The 26-year-old outfielder has logged at least one hit in five of six appearances in July, slashing .320/.308/.440 with three RBI, three runs scored and two extra-base hits across 26 plate appearances. Overall, he owns a .246/.311/.396 slash line with 49 runs scored, 37 RBI, six homers, six stolen bases and an 11.1 percent strikeout rate across 370 plate appearances this season.

The Dodgers transferred Kopech (knee) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

When Kopech was placed on the IL on July 1 due to right knee inflammation, manager Dave Roberts suggested that the reliever would be in line for a brief stay on the shelf. However, after Kopech received an injection to address the discomfort in his knee, the Dodgers evidently determined that the right-hander would need more time off to recover than anticipated. As a result of Kopech's move to the 60-day IL, he won't be eligible for activation until late August.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that he expects Hernandez (foot) to be back in the lineup for Friday's game in San Francisco, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez hasn't played since fouling a ball off his left foot in Saturday's game against the Astros. He will miss a fourth straight start Wednesday against the Brewers but is expected to make his return to action Friday following the Dodgers' scheduled off day Thursday.

Manager Dave Roberts said this week that Ohtani will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Giants and will be followed by right-hander Emmet Sheehan in bulk relief, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

After covering one inning in both of his first two starts as a pitcher, Ohtani has worked two frames in both of his subsequent outings. Roberts didn't go into specifics regarding what Ohtani's workload will look like Saturday, but if the current trend holds, the right-hander could be in line for a three-inning start. Until the Dodgers are willing to let Ohtani work five innings, he won't be able to qualify for wins in his starts, so the bulk of the two-way superstar's fantasy value looks as though it will come from his production as a hitter for the foreseeable future.

Sheehan was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday and made his second start of the campaign later that day in the Dodgers' 5-1 loss to the Astros. After opening the season on the injured list while recovering from his May 2024 Tommy John surgery, the young right-hander has looked sharp in both of his outings for the Dodgers, posting a 2.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB in nine innings. Though he could eventually be squeezed out of the rotation once Ohtani is fully stretched out and Blake Snell (shoulder) returns from the injured list, Sheehan looks worthy of rostering in most fantasy leagues while he's up with the Dodgers. Ohtani has yet to surpass two innings in any of his four starts as a pitcher, and since he likely won't be asked to cover more than three or four frames Saturday, Sheehan will be in good position to pick up a win if he's able to exit his bulk-relief appearance with the Dodgers holding a lead.
