Kyle Hart RP | SD
Padres' Kyle Hart: Optioned to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Hart to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
Hart threw 42 pitches in relief the previous two days, and San Diego needs a fresher arm for the bullpen. Ron Marinaccio has been recalled to take Hart's spot. Hart (3-2) has pitched in nine games (six starts) for the Padres this season, registering a 5.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB across 32.1 innings of action.

Jameson Taillon SP | CHC
Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Completes bullpen
Taillon (calf) threw 47 pitches in a bullpen session Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Taillon has begun throwing off a mound, and his stamina is already quite built up. Manager Craig Counsell said July 4 that Taillon would miss at least a month of action, and the pitcher looks to be on track to return around that one-month mark. Given how far he is in the process of being stretched out, Taillon may not require many rehab starts if the Cubs decide to send him on an assignment.

Padres' Ron Marinaccio: Recalled from Triple-A
The Padres recalled Marinaccio from Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
With Marinaccio joining the big club, Kyle Hart has been optioned to Triple-A. Marinaccio was briefly with the Padres earlier this month but didn't appear in a game. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2024. Marinaccio owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 39:14 K:BB across 37.1 innings of work with El Paso this season.

Max Kranick RP | WAS
Mets' Max Kranick: Transferred to 60-day IL
The Mets transferred Kranick (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Kranick is set to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow. He pitched in 24 games out of the bullpen for the Mets this season, logging a 3.65 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 37 innings. Kranick could end up missing most of the 2026 campaign.

Brenton Doyle CF | COL
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Not in Friday's lineup
Doyle is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles.
It's the second straight game on the bench for Doyle despite him going 7-for-12 with a stolen base, an RBI and two runs in his past three games. Jordan Beck, Mickey Moniak and Tyler Freeman will start from left to right in the outfield while Yanquiel Fernandez serves as the designated hitter.

Alex Carrillo RP | NYM
Mets' Alex Carrillo: Optioned to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Carrillo to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Carrillo made his MLB debut earlier this month and pitched in three total games after he was recalled, turning in a 13.50 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 4:2 K:BB across 4.2 innings of relief. Jose Castillo had his contract selected and will take Carrillo's spot in the bullpen.

Sean Bouchard RF | COL
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: DFA'd by Colorado
Bouchard was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Friday.
The 29-year-old began the season in the majors but has spent most of the past couple months with Triple-A Albuquerque. Bouchard had a .167/.247/.242 slash line in 32 games while up with the Rockies and a .792 OPS in 41 contests at Triple-A.
