  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Taking seat Sunday

Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Baty will head to the bench for the second time in the series, with both of his absences coming against left-handed starters. He could be at risk of losing out on starts versus right-handers, too, as Jeff McNeil will see more time in the infield after the Mets acquired center fielder Cedric Mullins from the Orioles on Thursday, giving Ronny Mauricio one fewer path to playing time. Baty, Mauricio and Mark Vientos will battle for starts at third base, but Mauricio's .886 OPS this season against righties is well ahead of Baty's .729 OPS in that split.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: On bench for series finale

Mauricio is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Mauricio will head to the bench while Mark Vientos starts at third base Sunday. The acquisition of Cedric Mullins at the trade deadline will limit Jeff McNeil to primarily second base, and in turn, Mauricio could be part of a committee at the hot corner with Vientos and Brett Baty.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Remaining on bench Sunday

Flores (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Flores will be relegated to the bench for a second straight game after his left hamstring tightened up on him Friday. According to MLB.com, he's considered day-to-day, and the Giants don't believe he'll require a trip to the injured list. With Flores sitting out Sunday, Rafael Devers will serve as the designated hitter while Dominic Smith steps in at first base.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | COL

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Sent to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Toglia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The 26-year-old recently fell into more of a part-time role and has now lost his place on the major-league roster. Toglia has played in 85 games for the Rockies this season and has a .194/.261/.361 slash line and 38.3 percent strikeout rate over 329 plate appearances.

  • Nick Anderson RP | ATH

Rockies' Nick Anderson: Rejoins big club

The Rockies recalled Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The right-hander was demoted to Triple-A on Monday but is back with the Rockies with Seth Halvorsen (elbow) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move. Anderson surrendered five earned runs over one innings during his lone appearance with Colorado following his call-up in late July.

  • Seth Halvorsen RP | COL

Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Shut down with elbow strain

The Rockies placed Halvorsen on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right elbow strain.

Halvorsen's elbow acted up Saturday, prompting the Rockies to pull him from the contest midway through Spencer Horwitz's at-bat. Though Dugan Darnell ended up finishing out the contest, Victor Vodnik and Juan Mejia could be the top options for saves while Halvorsen is on the shelf. According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, the right-hander will undergo an MRI on Sunday, and he's likely to miss more than the minimum 15 days. Halvorsen has converted 11 of 14 save chances while providing a 4.99 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 36:21 K:BB in 39.2 innings on the season.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Sunday

House is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

After tying a career high with three hits in a July 22 win over the Reds, House has fallen into a 5-for-30 skid at the plate while striking out 11 times over his last eight games. Jose Tena will step in at third base Sunday in place of House, who will hit the bench for the second time in four games amid his rough stretch at the dish.

  • Riley Adams C | WAS

Nationals' Riley Adams: Receiving breather Sunday

Adams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Adams will get a chance to catch his breath after he started five of the previous six games. Drew Millas will handle catching duties Sunday, forming a battery with starting pitcher Brad Lord.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Nationals' Nathaniel Lowe: Receiving rest Sunday

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Lowe appears to be getting a rare rest day Sunday after starting in each of the Nationals' last 38 games dating back to June 17. Josh Bell will cover first base, and James Wood will get a day out of the outfield as the designated hitter.

  • Brewers' Anthony Seigler: Getting second straight start

Seigler will start at third base and bat seventh Sunday against the Nationals.

Seigler will make a second straight start in place of Caleb Durbin after going 1-for-4 with his second stolen base of the season in Saturday's 8-2 win. The Brewers haven't indicated that Durbin is dealing with an injury, so Seigler will likely return to a backup role during the upcoming week.
