The Dodgers placed Muncy on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right oblique strain, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said Muncy's injury will force him to miss more than the 10-day minimum, though the team still expects him to return before the end of the regular season. Alex Freeland will presumably move to third base until Muncy returns, opening second base for Miguel Rojas, and the Dodgers claimed Buddy Kennedy off waivers from Toronto on Friday to replenish their bench depth.

Stewart said Friday he received cortisone and PRP injections in his right shoulder last week, and his shoulder has responded well, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Stewart got the injections to address inflammation, and while he'll still be shut down from throwing for another week, he's optimistic about a September return. Stewart was placed on the shelf Tuesday, just four appearances into his Dodgers career after being traded from Minnesota near the trade deadline.

Saggese will bat seventh and play second base Friday against the Yankees, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Saggese was thrust into the starting nine late Friday afternoon after Brendan Donovan was scratched with a foot injury. Saggese will look to extend his six-game hit streak.

Peralta will open Friday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Randy Vasquez is expected to handle the bulk of innings Friday, but it will be Peralta on the mound to face the formidable trio of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Will Smith in the first inning of the series opener. The 34-year-old Peralta carries a 3.13 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 54.2 innings on the year and will likely be limited to just one inning of work during his second career MLB start.

O'Hearn isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

O'Hearn will get a breather Friday after going 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored during Wednesday's win over San Francisco. Jose Iglesias will enter the lineup as San Diego's designated hitter and bat seventh.

Chapman (hand) is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Rays on Friday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Chapman will miss a second straight game due to right hand soreness, though he could be available off the bench for Friday's series opener. With Chapman out of the lineup, Casey Schmitt will shift to the hot corner while Christian Koss starts at second base and bats seventh.

Scott (elbow) threw a 22-pitch simulated inning Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Scott has been throwing off a mound since Aug. 6, though Friday marks the first time he's done so against live hitters. The Dodgers may still look to get him a few tune-up outings in the minors before activating him from the injured list, but a late-August return is still on the table.

Donovan was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Yankees due to a foot injury, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Donovan missed a few games earlier in the week due to groin soreness, which reportedly was a direct result of his injured foot. Manager Oliver Marmol said there's a chance the 28-year-old's foot ends up keeping him sidelined for multiple days, but he doesn't seem ticketed for the injured list at the moment.

Crow-Armstrong went 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates. He was also hit by a pitch.

Crow-Armstrong was a constant nuisance to the Pirates, reaching in all four plate appearances and playing a role in both Cubs runs. The 23-year-old notched his first multi-hit game since July 30, snapping a 3-for-41 slump over his previous 11 August contests. For the year, he's slashing .259/.297/.523 with 27 homers, 79 RBI, 75 runs scored and 30 steals across 493 plate appearances.
