  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Homer short of cycle Friday

Mullins went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.

It took him a few games to get adjusted to his new team after being traded by the Orioles at the deadline, but Mullins is finding his groove with the Mets. The center fielder has hit safely in five straight games, and over his last 12 contests he's slashing .304/.353/.500 with six extra-base hits (four double, a triple and a homer), one steal, six runs and six RBI.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swipes two bags in win

Lindor went 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Friday's win over Atlanta.

The shortstop stayed hot as the Mets' leadoff hitter, extending his hitting streak to 10 games -- a stretch in which he's batting a stunning .512 (22-for-43) with four homers, four steals, eight RBI and 12 runs. Lindor's surge has pushed him back up to a .797 OPS on the season, and he sits three stolen bases away from his third straight 25-25 campaign.

  • Brett Baty 3B | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Bangs out four more hits Friday

Baty went 4-for-6 with a double and three runs scored in Friday's win over Atlanta.

The Mets' offense erupted for 21 hits and 12 runs Friday, and Baty was right in the thick of things from the sixth spot in the order. He got the start at second base while Jeff McNeil deals with a shoulder issue, but Baty has forced his way into an everyday role by hitting safely in nine of his last 10 games and batting .405 (15-for-37) during that span with four homers, six RBI and 10 runs.

  • Maximo Acosta SS | MIA

Marlins' Maximo Acosta: Goes yard in second straight game

Acosta went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Starting at shortstop and batting ninth as a late replacement for Otto Lopez (illness), Acosta took Yariel Rodriguez deep in the eighth inning. It was the second straight game with a homer for the 22-year-old infielder, with the two longs balls accounting for his only hits in 14 plate appearances over his first four MLB contests. Lopez isn't like to miss much more time, but Acosta is beginning to make a case for more playing time over the final weeks of the season.

  • Braves' Ronald Acuna: Clubs 15th homer

Acuna went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's loss to the Mets.

He took rookie Nolan McLean deep for a solo shot to lead off the fourth inning before adding an RBI single in the eighth. Acuna has 15 long balls in only 62 games this season, a 39-homer pace over a full campaign, and in seven contests since returning from a calf strain he's batting .296 (8-for-27) with one double, one home run, one steal, four RBI and five runs.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Scorching at Triple-A

Quero went 15-for-38 (.395) with three home runs, five doubles, 15 RBI and a 5:8 BB:K over his last 11 games with Triple-A Nashville.

Quero -- who underwent right shoulder surgery in April of 2024 -- had not done much hitting before landing on the injured list in late July with a left shoulder injury, but he has been a man on a mission since being activated earlier this month. Quero is one of Milwaukee's top prospects at the catcher position and will turn 23 years old in October, and with him seemingly back at full strength, he figures to have a strong case to be the backup backstop for the Brewers in 2026.

  • Henry Davis C | PIT

Pirates' Henry Davis: Tallies two hits

Davis went 2-for-4 with a double against the Rockies on Friday.

Davis continues to split playing time evenly with Joey Bart, though Davis drew a second consecutive start Friday. He has contributed very little with his bat this season, and he hit just .093 with two RBI and two runs scored across 16 games in July. Davis has seen a very modest uptick in August, going 7-for-38 in 13 games, with all seven of his hits coming in his last eight starts.

  • Pirates' Spencer Horwitz: Smacks sixth home run

Horwitz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored Friday against the Rockies.

Horwitz smacked an RBI double in the second inning and followed that up with his fifth home run of the season four frames later. He hasn't hit for much power this season, as he has a .132 ISO across 303 plate appearances, but Horwitz now has four extra-base hits across his last five starts. Horwitz is putting together a respectable second half, as he's hitting .300 with four homers, 20 RBI and 17 runs scored across 31 games since the All-Star break.

  • Jhoan Duran RP | PHI

Phillies' Jhoan Duran: Blows first save as Phillie

Duran (6-5) blew the save and took the loss Friday, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits in the ninth inning as the Phillies fell 5-4 to the Nationals. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Called in to protect a 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth, Duran gave up a one-out double to Dylan Crews and an RBI single to Daylen Lile to tie the game. Lile then stole third and scampered home on a J.T. Realmuto throwing error for the winning run, tagging Duran with his first blown save in seven chances since being acquired by Philadelphia. Despite the stumble, the right-hander still has a 1.35 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 8:0 K:BB over 6.2 innings for his new team, and his spot as closer is in no jeopardy.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | PHI

Phillies' Taijuan Walker: Fans five in no-decision

Walker didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Nationals, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out five.

All the damage came on a first-inning homer by Riley Adams, but Walker kept his focus and got taken off the hook for the loss when the Phillies tied things up in the bottom of the sixth. Top prospect Andrew Painter still lurks as a rotation option for the stretch run, but Walker's been steady as the team's fifth starter, lasting at least five innings in six straight trips to the mound while posting a 2.88 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB over 34.1 innings. The veteran righty is scheduled to make his next start on the road next week in a crucial NL East clash with the Mets.
