Kyle Tucker RF | LAD
Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Goes deep in win
Tucker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Angels.
The home run was Tucker's first since July 19 and his 19th of the season. The outfielder has been in a well-documented slump, as he's batting just .171 with a .530 OPS across his last 20 games. Tucker is reportedly fully recovered from a hairline fracture in his right hand that had impacted his swing, and Friday's long ball could be a sign that he's starting to feel comfortable at the plate again.

Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Marlins' Otto Lopez: Still out Saturday
Lopez (illness) isn't starting Saturday's contest against the Blue Jays.
Lopez had to be scratched from Friday's lineup due to an illness, and he's slated to miss at least one more game. Maximo Acosta is Miami's starting shortstop Saturday with Lopez out of action.

Luis Matos RF | MIL
Giants' Luis Matos: Productive in defeat
Matos went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a solo home run, a double, a stolen base and a walk in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Brewers.
Matos launched a homer to center field in the second inning, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead. The 23-year-old also lined a double to right field in the ninth, and he has recorded multiple extra-base hits in back-to-back games. He's slashing .190/.234/.421 with 16 runs scored, 14 RBI, six home runs and three stolen bases across 128 plate appearances this season.

Heriberto Hernandez LF | MIA
Marlins' Heriberto Hernandez: Getting rest Saturday
Hernandez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus Toronto.
Hernandez will get at least a partial rest day after starting each of Miami's past six games and going 4-for-20 with three RBI over that stretch. Troy Johnston is getting a start in left field in Hernandez's stead Saturday.

Randy Rodriguez RP | SF
Giants' Randy Rodriguez: Picks up loss Friday
Rodriguez (3-5) took the loss in Friday's 5-4 defeat to the Brewers, allowing one home run while striking out one across one inning.
Rodriguez entered the game with two outs in the eighth inning and struck out the first batter he faced. The 25-year-old retired two straight hitters in the ninth with the game tied at 4-4, but he gave up a walk-off home run to William Contreras. Rodriguez owns a 1.78 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 67:11 K:BB in 50.2 innings across 50 games this season.

Erick Fedde SP | CHW
Braves' Erick Fedde: Mops up in Friday's loss
Fedde worked in long relief during Friday's 12-7 loss to the Mets, covering 4.1 innings and striking out one batter while allowing six earned runs on 11 hits and two walks.
After being acquired from the Cardinals on July 27, Fedde stepped into the Atlanta rotation but fared poorly over his four starts with the club, netting a 7.11 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 12:11 K:BB in 19 innings. With Atlanta claiming Cal Quantrill off waivers from Miami on Thursday and inserting him into the rotation Saturday, Fedde was moved to the bullpen for the weekend series and was put to work Friday after starter Joey Wentz was chased from the game midway through the fourth inning. Though he spared the rest of the bullpen from overuse, Fedde was knocked around during his 93-pitch appearance and is unlikely to see opportunities in high-leverage spots anytime soon.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Braves' Cal Quantrill: Making team debut Saturday
Quantrill is slated to start Saturday's game against the Mets at Truist Park, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Erick Fedde had been in line to start this weekend, but he ended up getting moved to the bullpen to open up a rotation spot for Quantrill, whom Atlanta claimed off waivers from Miami on Thursday. Before getting cut by the Marlins, Quantrill had endured a disappointing 2025 campaign, posting a 5.50 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 82:30 K:BB in 109.2 innings. An impending free agent this winter, Quantrill will look to pitch well over the final five weeks of the season with the hope of earning a rotation spot with Atlanta or another club heading into 2026.

PJ Poulin RP | WAS
Nationals' PJ Poulin: Nabs first MLB win
Poulin (1-1) picked up the win over the Phillies on Friday, striking out three over two perfect innings of relief.
The rookie southpaw worked the eighth inning with the Nationals down 4-3, and after the team took the lead in the top of the ninth, Poulin stayed on the mound for the final three outs to lock up his first win in the majors. He got that opportunity with Jose Ferrer and Cole Henry both having worked the prior two days, but it was still a big vote of confidence in Poulin's ability to handle high-leverage situations. Over his first 10 big-league innings, he's delivered a 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB.

Hayden Senger C | NYM
Mets' Hayden Senger: Drives in three Friday
Senger went 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.
Called back up to the majors earlier in the week, Senger made his second straight start Friday and contributed to a 12-run eruption by the Mets offense with run-producing singles in the second and eighth innings. Luis Torrens will handle the majority of the work behind the plate while Francisco Alvarez (thumb) is sidelined once again, but Senger could see steady playing time if he keeps contributing with his bat -- all four of his RBI on the season have come in the last two games, and Torrens has a weak .186/.230/.214 slash line in 74 plate appearances since the beginning of July.

Tyrone Taylor CF | NYM
Mets' Tyrone Taylor: Three hits in Friday's start
Taylor went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.
Getting the start in left field and batting seventh, Taylor joined in a 21-hit, 12-run barrage by the Mets. The veteran outfielder has started the last two games with Brandon Nimmo (neck) unavailable, but prior to that Taylor hadn't gotten a plate appearance since Aug. 5, as the acquisition of Cedric Mullins relegated him to a bench role. Roster depth wasn't the only reason for Taylor's reduced playing time -- he'd gone just 2-for-28 since the All-Star break before Friday's performance. Once Nimmo is clear to return, expect Taylor to once again be a spare part in the New York outfield.
