  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Swipes two bags in win

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins.

The 25-year-old swiped multiple bags in the same game for the first time since May 1, giving him 13 steals on the season in 18 attempts. Garcia hasn't been able to repeat his 2024 numbers, but he's reached double-digit home runs and stolen bases for the second straight year. Over his last 11 contests, he's batting .286 (10-for-35) with two doubles, two homers, three steals, five runs and six RBI.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Strong showing against Miami

House went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins.

The rookie third baseman took Eury Perez deep in the fourth inning, giving House three homers in 56 games with the Nationals to go along with five steals. He's begun to string together a few more hits of late, batting .294 (10-for-34) over his last 10 games, but House's 0:14 BB:K during that stretch indicates he's still working to adjust to big-league pitching.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Continues revival in second half

Albies went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a 5-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.

Albies ended Chicago's no-hit bid with a seventh-inning single, and he also launched his 15th homer of the campaign. While the second baseman has been a fantasy bust overall -- he has a .675 OPS in 2025 -- he's now tallied multiple hits in seven of his last nine outings amid his surge in the second half of the year. Since the All-Star break, Albies is slashing .283/.346/.474 with eight long balls, nine doubles, 34 RBI and five stolen bases over 191 plate appearances.

  • Nasim Nunez 2B | WAS

Nationals' Nasim Nunez: Pops first two career homers

Nunez went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins.

Getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth in his first action with the Nationals since June 8, Nunez connected on his first two career homers in his 75th big-league game, launching a solo shot off Eury Perez in the second inning and a two-run blast against Luarbert Arias in the eighth. Nunez isn't known for his power -- he has only nine career homers in the minors -- but if he gets semi-regular playing time in September, he could make an impact on the basepaths. Between Triple-A and the majors this season, the 25-year-old infielder has gone 44-for-51 on stolen base attempts over 86 games.

  • Nationals' Mitchell Parker: Can't compete five frames Wednesday

Parker came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

A fifth-inning error by Luis Garcia helped soften the blow to Parker's ERA, but the southpaw had trouble putting batters away and wasn't able to qualify for the win after running his pitch count up to 91 (66 strikes). He hasn't picked up a victory since July 26, going 0-5 over his last seven starts with a 9.28 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB in 32 innings. Parker will try to turn things around in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in a rematch with Miami.

  • Joey Wiemer RF | WAS

Marlins' Joey Wiemer: Pops first homer of 2025

Wiemer went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Nationals.

The 26-year-old outfielder took Mitchell Parker deep in the fifth inning, giving Wiemer his first homer in the majors this season. Through eight games since joining the Marlins' roster, he's batting .259 (7-for-27) with six RBI, but a 0:14 BB:K offers little reassurance that he'll remain productive.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Struggles continue Wednesday

Perez (6-5) took the loss Wednesday as the Marlins were downed 10-5 by the Nationals, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two.

Two of the hits off Perez left the yard, including Nasim Nunez's first career homer in the majors -- continuing a downturn that has seen the right-hander serve up multiple home runs in four of six starts since the beginning of August, a stretch in which he's been saddled with an 8.53 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 25.1 innings. Perez will try to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week in a rematch with the Nats.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Won't play Thursday

Yelich (back) isn't expected to play Thursday against the Phillies, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Manager Pat Murphy said after Wednesday's win that Yelich began experiencing soreness in his lower back about a week ago. As a result, the veteran outfielder sat out of Wednesday's contest, and the plan is to keep him on the bench until the team begins its weekend series in Pittsburgh. Jackson Chourio worked as the Brewers' designated hitter with Blake Perkins in center field Wednesday, and the Brewers may go for a similar look Thursday against southpaw Ranger Suarez.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Cubs' Willi Castro: Swipes base, collects RBI in loss

Castro went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Atlanta.

Castro had one of just four Chicago hits and drove in the Cubs' only run in the bottom of the second inning. The utility player also recorded his 10th stolen base of the year in 13 attempts. It's the second straight season that Castro has reached double figures in both steals and home runs. That gives the 28-year-old some fantasy appeal when he's in the lineup, though he has struggled since coming over to Chicago at the trade deadline, posting a .159 batting average and .410 OPS in 21 games with his new team.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | LAA

Cubs' Drew Pomeranz: Another poor outing Wednesday

Pomeranz allowed two runs on three hits while only retiring two batters in relief during Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Atlanta.

Pomeranz came on in the top of the seventh inning with two runners on and Chicago up 1-0, and the lefty promptly served up a three-run home run. That saddled Ben Brown with the loss in relief, though it was certainly a discouraging outing for Pomeranz, who has allowed two runs on three hits in two of his last three appearances. Despite the hiccup, the veteran still has a tidy 2.45 ERA on the season, and his track record this year suggests he'll be able to get back on track.
