  • Andy Pages CF | LAD

Dodgers' Andy Pages: Taking seat Sunday

Pages is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Pages has gone 2-for-16 with eight strikeouts over the past four contests, and he'll head to the bench Sunday after a run of 76 consecutive starts. Enrique Hernandez will take over in center field for the series finale in Baltimore.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Set for Monday return

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Muncy (oblique) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Rockies, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Muncy has been on the IL since Aug. 15 due to a right oblique strain and had his recovery program briefly slowed down by an illness, but he looks ready to rejoin the big club after playing three rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City from Thursday through Saturday while going 2-for-7 with two walks and a run. Enrique Hernandez and Miguel Rojas have been sharing work at third base of late, but Muncy should step back in as an everyday option at the position once he's activated.

  • Jacob Young CF | WAS

Nationals' Jacob Young: On bench Sunday

Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Young made his return Saturday from a two-game absence due to back spasms and went 0-for-3 at the plate. He'll yield to Robert Hassell in center field Sunday for Washington's series finale. After serving as the everyday center fielder for most of June and July, Young and Hassell have been splitting work at the position over the last few weeks.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | LAD

    Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Still idle

Tucker (calf) is out of the lineup Sunday against Washington.

Tucker isn't part of the starting nine for a fourth consecutive game since being removed from Tuesday's contest due to left calf tightness. The Cubs were optimistic he'd return to the lineup this weekend, but with that goal having passed, the likelihood of an IL stint grows. Seiya Suzuki will fill right field Sunday while Justin Turner serves as the designated hitter.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: On bench Sunday

Crow-Armstrong (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Crow-Armstrong left Saturday's game after fouling a ball off his knee in the sixth inning, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale. The Cubs have deemed the injury a right knee contusion, which means Crow-Armstrong should be considered day-to-day. Kevin Alcantara will patrol center field Sunday.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Hopes for rehab games this week

Donovan (groin) hopes to begin a rehab assignment sometime during the upcoming week, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Donovan has been upping his baseball activities as he works his way back from a left groin strain and appears almost ready to test things out in a game setting. He could be eyeing a return Sept. 15 when the Cardinals return to St. Louis to begin a homestand. Donovan has been sidelined since mid-August.

  • Adam Mazur P | MIA

Marlins' Adam Mazur: Expected to follow opener Sunday

Mazur is expected to work as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Tyler Phillips during Sunday's game against the Phillies, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Mazur had made a pair of starts for the Marlins upon being recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Aug. 28, but Miami appears set to use the right-hander behind an opener with the hope of generating better results from him. Over his three total starts with Miami this season, Mazur has gone 0-2 with a 5.74 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 15.2 innings.

  • Tyler Phillips RP | MIA

Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Opening Sunday's contest

Phillips will serve as an the Marlins' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Phillips made seven starts for Philadelphia in 2024, but he's been deployed exclusively as a reliever during his first season in Miami. Though he's in line for his first start of 2025 while taking on his former team, Phillips isn't expected to cover much more than an inning or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Sunday had been Adam Mazur's turn in the rotation, so Mazur could be deployed in bulk relief behind Phillips.

  • Kevin Herget RP | NYM

Mets' Kevin Herget: Returned to Triple-A

The Mets optioned Herget to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

Herget will head back to Syracuse after a four-day stint in the big leagues. He appeared in two games during that stretch, allowing three runs across 2.1 innings Tuesday before pitching 1.2 scoreless frames Saturday. Herget has a 2.00 ERA in 27 innings with Syracuse this season.

  • Wander Suero RP | ATH

Mets' Wander Suero: Sent to Triple-A

The Mets optioned Suero to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

Suero joined the big-league club Friday after being claimed off waivers from Atlanta on Thursday. He'll now head to Syracuse without making his Mets debut. The 33-year-old reliever logged a 1.35 ERA in 46.2 innings with Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate earlier this season.
