Caissie (calf) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Caissie is scheduled to play three games with Jacksonville before being re-evaluated, so he would appear to have a shot at returning from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend. Before being deactivated July 9 due to a right calf strain, Caissie had cobbled together a .239/.297/.459 slash line with 12 home runs, four stolen bases, 50 RBI and 30 runs over 80 games with Miami.

Church is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Cubs.

It marks the fourth straight time that the left-handed-hitting Church has been absent from the lineup versus a southpaw (in this case, David Peterson). Jose Fermin will patrol center field for the Cardinals in Monday's series opener.

Steer will wear a splint for the next two weeks after being diagnosed with a partial tear of the tendon sheath in his right wrist, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Steer suffered the injury on a swing during Sunday's game in St. Louis and was placed on the injured list Monday. The hope is that he can avoid surgery and the injury heals with rest, but it's no guarantee that will happen. A timeline for Steer's return likely won't be available until he's re-evaluated following the two-week shutdown period.

The Pirates reinstated Rodriguez (glute) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Rodriguez won't be included in the starting nine for Monday's series opener versus the Diamondbacks, but he should at the very least move back into a timeshare at catcher with Henry Davis. Before hitting the shelf July 8 due to a left glute strain, Rodriguez slashed .260/.388/.470 with five home runs, two stolen bases, 16 RBI and 15 runs over his 35 games with Pittsburgh. The Pirates optioned catcher Shawn Ross to Triple-A Indianapolis to open up a spot on the active roster for Rodriguez.

Young is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

It's the second straight game and sixth time over the last seven contests that the right-handed-hitting Young has been out of the lineup versus a righty. He had a minor hand injury for the first part of that stretch, but Young no longer looks to be the top option in center field for the Nationals. It will be Dylan Crews patrolling center field Monday, and Jose Tena will be in the lineup at designated hitter.

House is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Blue Jays.

House doubled twice in his return to the majors Sunday against the Diamondbacks, but he will exit the lineup for Monday's series opener. Jorbit Vivas will cover third base and bat eighth for the Nationals.

Caissie (calf) was spotted taking live batting practice at LoanDepot Park on Monday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Barral previously reported Wednesday that Caissie was running at about 85 percent intensity and increasing his defensive and plyometric work, and the young outfielder's ability to face live pitching Monday seemingly represents another step in the right direction. Caissie has been on the shelf since July 9 due to a right calf strain but could soon be ready to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

The Nationals recalled Schultz from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Schultz has logged 30.2 innings for the Nationals this season, posting a 5.87 ERA and 31:11 K:BB. The 28-year-old will operate in middle relief out of the Washington bullpen.

The Nationals designated Krook for assignment Monday.

Krook walked all three batters he faced and was charged with two runs in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks, and he finds himself off the 26-man and 40-man rosters a day later. Paxton Schultz will absorb Krook's spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

House went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Seeing his first action in the big leagues since May 18, House carved out his share of a 10-run, 15-hit attack by the Nationals that included nine extra-base hits. The 23-year-old will get a long look at third base due to Curtis Mead now being in Boston. Over 50 games with Triple-A Rochester this season, House put together a .301/.342/.500 slash line with eight homers, 26 runs and 34 RBI.
