  • Rangers' Andrew Knizner: Playing second fiddle to Heim

Knizner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Knizner will be back on the bench for the series finale after he started behind the dish in Saturday's 8-4 loss while going 1-for-3 with two RBI. He remains the Rangers' clear No. 2 backstop behind Jonah Heim.

  • Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Losing work to Foscue

Jankowski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

After starting in four of the preceding five games, the lefty-hitting Jankowski finds himself on the bench for the second matchup in a row versus a right-hander (Dean Kremer). Jankowski appears to have ceded his regular spot in the lineup to Justin Foscue, who will get a second consecutive start at designated hitter after being called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Taking seat against lefty

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers while he contends with a sore left knee, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 30-year-old had his left knee wrapped following Saturday's 8-4 win after he was hit by a pitch earlier in the contest, but the lefty-hitting O'Hearn likely would have been on the bench Sunday regardless of the injury since southpaw Andrew Heaney is pitching for Texas. O'Hearn will have Monday's team off day to rest up ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Marlins.

  • Orioles' Heston Kjerstad: Taking seat Sunday

Kjerstad is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

After spending the minimum seven days on the injured list due to a concussion, Kjerstad was activated Saturday and started in right field in the Orioles' 8-4 win, going 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. Though he'll take a seat Sunday against southpaw Andrew Heaney, the lefty-hitting Kjerstad could reclaim regular reps against right-handed pitching now that he's fully healthy.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: On bench versus lefty

Mullins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Mullins went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and an additional run scored Saturday but won't start Sunday against Texas southpaw Andrew Heaney. Colton Cowser will man center field and bat seventh in the series finale.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

    Orioles' Ramon Urias: Scratched Sunday

Urias was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old was initially penciled in at third base, but Gunnar Henderson was a late addition to the lineup after originally being scheduled for a day off. Urias hasn't been reported to be dealing with an injury, as he's likely just the odd man out with Baltimore's All-Star shortstop entering the starting nine.

  • Royals' Freddy Fermin: Sitting again Sunday

Fermin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Fermin will sit for the second straight game while Salvador Perez starts behind the plate and Adam Frazier serves as the Royals' designated hitter. The Royals' willingness to deploy Perez at first base or DH on his non-catching days should continue to open up more playing time for Fermin compared to most No. 2 backstops, though Fermin's opportunities have taken a hit while his bat has cooled down of late. Fermin has gone 2-for-14 with a walk and four strikeouts over his last four starts.

  • Gavin Sheets 1B | SD

White Sox's Gavin Sheets: Losing work versus righties

Sheets will start in right field and bat second Sunday against the Royals.

Though he'll occupy a prominent spot in the batting order in the series finale in Kansas City, Sheets still appears to be on the outside looking in for a regular spot in the White Sox lineup. He didn't start in either of the first two games of the series, with the Royals bringing righties to the hill for both contests. With Andrew Vaughn and Eloy Jimenez locked in as the White Sox's primary starters at first base and designated hitter, respectively, and Andrew Benintendi and Tommy Pham typically serving as the team's starters in the corner outfield, Sheets look like he'll need an injury or a trade to get steadier playing time.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Out of Sunday's lineup

Massey is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Massey went 3-for-8 with a triple, three RBI and a run in the first two games out of the second half but will head to the bench for Sunday's contest. Garrett Hampson will receive a start at second base and bat sixth in the series finale.

  • White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Not in Sunday's lineup

Benintendi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Benintendi has gone 5-for-11 with a homer over his past three games but will sit for Sunday's series finale in Kansas City. Tommy Pham will shift to left field while Gavin Sheets receives a start in right against Royals righty Seth Lugo.
