  • Leonardo Rivas 3B | SEA

Mariners' Leo Rivas: Productive out No. 9 spot

Rivas went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a walk and two runs in a win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Rivas once again provided useful contributions out of the bottom of the order, and he maximized both of his trips on the basepaths by eventually crossing the plate each time. The rookie infielder, who continues to see regular playing time at shortstop in the absence of J.P. Crawford (finger), has reached safely in six of his last seven games, a span in which he owns a .400 OBP thanks in part to a 15.4 percent walk rate.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Belts seventh homer

Rojas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run in a win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Rojas delivered his first home run of August in the fourth inning to extend the Mariners' lead to 5-0 at the time. The multi-hit effort was Rojas' first since the last time he'd left the yard July 31, and it snapped an 0-for-12 slump that had encompassed his previous four games. Despite the productive day Sunday, Rojas' bat has lost almost all of its early-season sizzle, as he's carrying a .198 average and .599 OPS over the 62 games he's played since June 1.

  • Dane Dunning SP | SEA

Rangers' Dane Dunning: Garnering start Monday

Dunning will start Monday's contest against the Pirates.

The choice seemed to come down to Dunning or Jose Urena and the Rangers have opted for the former. Dunning has been deployed as a swingman this season and this will be his second appearance in a row as a starter after he allowed four runs over five frames last week versus the Red Sox. While Dunning could earn additional turns in the rotation, his spot is tenuous with Max Scherzer (shoulder) and Jacob deGrom (elbow) lurking.

  • Scott Blewett RP | ATH

Twins' Scott Blewett: Re-ups with Minnesota

Blewett re-signed Saturday with the Twins on a minor-league contract.

Minnesota selected Blewett's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Aug. 9, but he made just one appearance out of the big-league bullpen before he was designated for assignment less than a week later. After he cleared waivers, Blewett elected free agency Friday, but he quickly came to an agreement with the Twins on a new deal. He reported back to Triple-A, where he's accrued a 3.56 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 55:17 K:BB across 55.2 innings on the season.

  • Clay Holmes SP | CHC

Yankees' Clay Holmes: Blows save Sunday

Holmes was charged with a blown save in Sunday's loss to the Tigers, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three over an inning.

Holmes entered trying to preserve a 1-0 lead and was unable to do so. He allowed a one-out double to Colt Keith, who would come around to score on a base-hit from Jace Jung to send the game into extras. Since July 5, Holmes has six blown saves to his seven saves, and he leads all of baseball with 10 blown saves this season. On a positive note, he does have multiple strikeouts in each of his last four appearances and is still tied for sixth in baseball with 26 saves. For the year, Holmes owns a 2.88 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 56:14 K:BB in 50 innings.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Yankees' Marcus Stroman: Blanks Tigers through six

Stroman did not factor into the decision in Sunday's loss to the Tigers, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks. He struck out five.

Stroman had one of his best outings in recent memory Sunday. It was his first time reaching six innings since June 22 and his fourth time this season shutting the opponent out and reaching six innings. He exited the game with a narrow 1-0 lead that eventually slipped away in the ninth. Stroman has now allowed just one run over his last two starts after allowing 10 combined in his two starts prior. His strikeout averages this year are one of the lowest of his career and his walks are up, but he's trending towards a fifth straight season with an ERA below 4.00. For the year, Stroman owns a 3.82 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 92:54 K:BB in 127.1 innings. He lines up to face the Rockies at home over the weekend his next time out.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Three hits in Sunday's win

Keith went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Keith notched his seventh game with at least three hits this season and now has six games in August with multiple hits. His lone extra-base knock of the night came off Clay Holmes in the ninth and Keith wound up coming around to score to send the game to extras. Keith hasn't been able to replicate the power numbers he displayed in the minors, as he hasn't hit a home run since July 27, but has maintained a patient eye at the dish and ranks third among all qualified rookies with a 17.6 strikeout percentage. For the year, the 22-year-old is slashing .256/.308/.386 with 11 homers, 44 RBI, 44 runs, six steals and a 28:75 BB:K in 425 plate appearances.

  • Parker Meadows CF | DET

Tigers' Parker Meadows: Three hits, stolen base in win

Meadows went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Meadows put together his first three-hit effort of the season and capped it with a walkoff base hit to win the game in the 10th for the Tigers. He's been super impactful since being activated from the injured list Aug. 3, slashing .348/.362/.565 with six extra-base hits, five RBI, seven runs, five steals and a 1:9 BB:K in 48 plate appearances. He has four steals over his last three starts and has at least a base hit in all but one start since returning to the lineup. For the year, Meadows is slashing .208/.285/.385 with four homers, 10 RBI, 18 runs, nine steals and a 13:43 BB:K in 144 plate appearances.

  • Jarren Duran LF | BOS

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Adds steal in loss

Duran went 0-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Baltimore.

The one time Duran got on base -- via a forceout in the third inning -- he immediately stole his 31st base of the season but was stranded there, as the Red Sox finished 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position. The steal left him tied for fifth in MLB with teammate David Hamilton.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Delivers run in loss

Rafaela went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Rafaela delivered Boston's first run with an eighth-inning single. The Red Sox had been 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position at that point. Rafaela is batting .321 (34-of-106) in 28 games since the All-Star break but has just two extra-base hits and seven RBI over that same stretch.
