Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Royals' Hunter Harvey: Close to mound work
Harvey (back) is progressing well and hopes to be clear to throw a bullpen session in the coming days, Jaylon Thompson of the Kansas City Star reports.
Harvey hasn't made an appearance since Aug. 4 because of mid-back tightness, an injury that he initially suffered in late July. The right-handed reliever looks to be trending in the right direction and should have a shot to return before the end of the month if all goes well. Harvey is part of the late-inning mix in Kansas City.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Having solid August
Vaughn went 1-for-5 on Monday against the Giants.
Vaughn has struggled for most of the season but has had a solid stretch in August. Across 15 games, he's maintained a .315 average with only a 13.3 percent strikeout rate. While he has only one home run in that span, he does have seven doubles, four RBI and nine runs scored.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Takes loss Monday
Jansen (3-2) was tagged with Monday's loss to the Astros, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one over one-third of an inning.
Jansen entered the ninth inning with the score tied and promptly dispatched Yordan Alvarez on three pitches. His fourth pitch, however, hung too high in the zone, and Yainer Diaz belted a no-doubt home run to left, giving Houston the walk-off win. Jansen had not allowed a hit or run in his previous six outings, spanning 6.2 innings.

Lucas Sims RP | CHW
Red Sox's Lucas Sims: Unable to hold lead
Sims allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out one over one inning, picking up a blown save in Monday's 5-4 loss to Houston.
The Red Sox seemingly were in control late, but the bullpen -- Sims and Kenley Jansen -- allowed the Astros to tie and then win the game in the final two innings. With two outs and the bases empty in the eighth inning, Sims allowed back-to-back hits that erased Boston's one-run lead. Sims was added at the trade deadline to help a faltering bullpen, and he's done fine when not facing the Astros. In three appearances against Houston while in a Boston uniform, Sims has allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over 3.1 innings.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Runs hit streak to eight games
Semien went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.
Semien extended a hit streak to eight games with a third-inning single, and he eventually came around to score on Corey Seager's three-run home run. During the hit streak, Semien is 12-for-38 (.316) with four doubles, a home run, four RBI and six runs scored.

Zebby Matthews SP | MIN
Twins' Zebby Matthews: Takes first big-league loss
Matthews (1-1) took the loss against San Diego on Monday, allowing five runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out one batter over five innings.
Matthews was given a one-run lead in the top of the first inning, but he allowed the Padres to score twice in the bottom of the frame. The rookie hurler allowed three more runs in the third -- those were all unearned, though the error that led to them was committed by Matthews himself. The right-hander added to the miscue with a pair of walks in the inning, which was very uncharacteristic for him given his minuscule 0.6 BB/9 over 97 frames in the minors this season. Matthews' command has been consistently outstanding throughout his time as a pro, so that aspect of his pitching will likely carry over to the majors. However, he made only four appearances at the Triple-A level (and registered a 5.68 ERA over 19 innings) prior to his call-up to the majors, so fantasy managers would probably be wise to tempter expectations as he adjusts to facing big-league hitters.

Salvador Perez DH | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Drives in three in win
Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 5-3 win over the Angels.
Perez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and then added a two-run double in the seventh that sealed the win for the Royals. The catcher has been as steady as ever in August, going 17-for-61 (.279) with 12 RBI over 16 contests this month. He's up to a .278/.336/.472 slash line with 22 home runs, 85 RBI, 50 runs scored and 22 doubles through 122 games this season.

Kyle Isbel CF | KC
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Records steal Monday
Isbel went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 5-3 win over the Angels.
Isbel has gone 11-for-26 (.423) over his last eight games, a span that has seen him rack up five RBI and four extra-base hits. The outfielder has matched his career high with nine steals, doing so in just 11 attempts this year compared to 15 attempts in 2022. He's slashing .235/.289/.381 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 49 runs scored, eight doubles and seven triples over 324 plate appearances as a strong-side platoon option in center field.

Colton Cowser CF | BAL
Orioles' Colton Cowser: Swipes bag in Monday's loss
Cowser went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.
Cowser had gone 26 games without a steal entering Monday, though he produced 20 RBI and five home runs in that span. The outfielder is up to a .245/.323/.441 slash line with 18 homers, 56 RBI, 56 runs scored and eight steals through 118 contests this season. He continues to play on a near-everyday basis, often starting in left field versus right-handed pitchers and in center field against southpaws.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | SEA
Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Gets walked off Monday
Dominguez (3-3) allowed one run on one hit and struck out one in one-third of an inning to take the loss versus the Mets on Monday.
Dominguez was called on to keep the game tied at 3-3 in the ninth inning, but he allowed a one-out solo home run to Francisco Alvarez. This was the second outing in a row in which Dominguez has given up a run after previously posting a five-inning scoreless streak. For the season, he's now at a 4.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB over 46.2 innings while adding four saves and five holds. Dominguez has emerged as manager Brandon Hyde's top closing option this month, but his grip on that role is tenuous even with Craig Kimbrel struggling. Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez are also options to see late-inning work.
