  • Jhonkensy Noel OF | BAL

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Not starting Saturday

Noel isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Noel has gone 2-for-14 with an RBI and two runs scored since the start of September, and he'll now grab a spot on the bench while Lane Thomas starts in right field.

  • Bo Naylor C | MIL

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting down Saturday

Naylor isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Dodgers.

After going 0-for-5 across his last two games, Naylor will take a seat Saturday while Austin Hedges catches for Gavin Williams and bats ninth.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Idle Saturday

Springer isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup Saturday versus Atlanta.

Springer will get a chance to rest Saturday after going 1-for-5 with a strikeout during a loss in Friday's series opener. Nathan Lukes will fill the void in right field and bat leadoff.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Back in action Saturday

Barger (knee) will start at third base and bat seventh Saturday against Atlanta.

Knee soreness has prevented Barger from playing in Toronto's last two games, but the issue seems to have subsided ahead of Saturday's contest. The 24-year-old has been hot at the plate recently, recording a hit in 10 of his last 11 games while posting a 1.064 OPS in that span.

  • Dan Altavilla RP | MIN

Royals' Dan Altavilla: Outrighted to Omaha

Altavilla cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Omaha.

The Royals dropped Altavilla from their 40-man roster immediately upon activating him from the 60-day IL on Thursday, but he'll remain within the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old righty has allowed six runs in only 3.2 major-league innings this season, though he's been more effective in Triple-A, pitching to the tune of a 4.11 ERA through 35 frames.

  • Kenley Jansen RP | DET

Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Available Saturday

Manager Alex Cora said that Jansen (lat) is available to pitch in Saturday's game against the White Sox, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Jansen was unavailable Friday due to a lat issue and missed out on a save opportunity. However, he's feeling well enough to suit up and pitch Saturday as needed. Jansen has 25 saves and a 3.70 ERA across 48.2 innings this season.

  • Kevin Pillar CF | TEX

Angels' Kevin Pillar: Placed on IL

The Angels placed Pillar on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a sprained left thumb.

Pillar likely picked up the injury during Friday's game against Texas after he replaced Jo Adell (oblique) in the second inning. With Adell joining Pillar on the injured list, Jordyn Adams and Bryce Teodosio were added to the 28-man active roster and should see plenty of work in the outfield.

  • Jordyn Adams CF | MIL

Angels' Jordyn Adams: Up from Salt Lake

The Angels recalled Adams from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Through 545 plate appearances in Triple-A, Adams has slashed .263/.335/.385 with 10 homers and 58 RBI while also swiping 28 bags. He'll be called upon to help replenish Los Angeles' outfield depth and likely compete for playing time with fellow call-up Bryce Teodosio as Kevin Pillar (thumb) and Jo Adell (oblique) move to the injured list.

  • Jo Adell RF | CLE

Angels' Jo Adell: On IL with oblique strain

The Angels placed Adell on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain.

Adell left Friday's game with oblique irritation and further testing revealed he's dealing with a strain. With Kevin Pillar (thumb) also being placed on the injured list, Jack Lopez, Jordyn Adams and Bryce Teodosio could all see significant action in the outfield.

  • Cody Poteet RP | BAL

Yankees' Cody Poteet: Doing well through four rehab games

Poteet (triceps) has posted a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB over 12 innings through four minor-league rehab appearances.

Poteet's first three rehab outings came with Double-A Somerset before he transitioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for his most recent appearance Sept. 5. The righty reliever's longest outing thus far has been 3.2 frames, and Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has said that the team sees Poteet as a potential depth piece down the stretch. While Poteet appears to be sufficiently ramped up for a return, it's not yet clear when the Yankees plan to activate him.
