Rangers' Danny Jansen: Resumes throwing Saturday

Jansen (forearm) was able to throw out to 60 feet Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Saturday marked the first time that Jansen was able to do any throwing since landing on the 10-day injured list June 6 due to a right forearm strain. Jansen had already been hitting and catching bullpen sessions, so working his way through a throwing progression will be his main objective before the Rangers send him out on a rehab assignment. Kyle Higashioka has been serving as the Rangers' primary backstop while Jansen has been on the shelf.

Guardians' Khal Stephen: Headed for elbow surgery

Guardians assistant general manager James Harris said Sunday that Stephen will undergo right elbow surgery in July, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Harris relayed that the type of procedure that Stephen will require won't be known until he meets with Dr. Keith Meister on July 2 to have his elbow evaluated. Regardless, Stephen appears likely to miss the remainder of the season, and depending on the nature of his surgery, his availability for the start of the 2027 season could be affected. The 23-year-old righty turned in a 3.27 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 49:23 K:BB in 55 innings with Double-A Akron this season before landing on the shelf June 10.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Stays scorching with two homers

Caglianone went 2-for-3 with two home runs, two walks, three RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Cardinals.

Caglianone continued his hot stretch at the plate with his second multi-homer game of the month. The slugger launched a two-run shot off Dustin May in the second inning before adding a solo homer in the ninth as Kansas City attempted a late comeback. Caglianone has now homered in three consecutive games, bringing his season total to 12 long balls. The 23-year-old has been one of baseball's hottest hitters recently, batting .375 with a 1.236 OPS and six homers over his last 12 games. While his season line of .275/.349/.480 may not jump off the page, his recent power surge is certainly worth monitoring.

  • Royals' Stephen Kolek: Shelled in short start

Kolek (4-2) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing nine runs on nine hits and one walk over 1.2 innings.

Kolek entered the day in excellent form, having allowed two runs or fewer in five of his previous six starts, but he was unable to escape the Cardinals' relentless offense Sunday. The right-hander was tagged for three home runs in his short outing, including two by rookie JJ Wetherholt, and was chased before completing the second inning. The nine runs allowed were a career high and caused his ERA to balloon by more than a full run. Kolek now owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across 52 innings. He will seek to get back on the right track against the White Sox on the road in his next scheduled start.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Tallies two thefts in loss

Dominguez went 1-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases Sunday in a loss to the Reds.

Dominguez reached base only once, but he made the most of his first-inning single by swiping both second and third base. The talented young outfielder has stolen three bases over his past two contests after going without a theft across his first 14 games of the campaign. Dominguez certainly has the potential to notch plenty of steals given his 82nd percentile sprint speed.

  • Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Continues to be active on basepaths

Chisholm went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases against Cincinnati in a loss Sunday.

New York racked up six thefts as a team Sunday, but none of the base stealers ended up scoring. Chisholm's stolen bases were his eighth and ninth through 17 contests in June, and he's now up to 23 on the campaign, putting him on pace to surpass his career-best mark of 40 steals, which he established in the 2024 regular season. Chisholm has complemented his work on the basepaths with 11 homers, and he's one of four major leaguers so far with at least 10 long balls and 20 thefts on the campaign.

  • Cody Bellinger LF | NYY

Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Reaches 10 thefts

Bellinger went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Bellinger was one of three Yankees to swipe two bags, but incredibly, none of the thefts led to any runs. Bellinger's steals were his ninth and 10th of campaign, and he's now reached double-digit steals for the seventh time in his career. The veteran outfielder is one of 16 major-leaguers so far in 2026 to reach double-digit homers and thefts.

  • Ben Rice 1B | NYY

Yankees' Ben Rice: Launches 24th long ball

Rice went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday in a loss to Cincinnati.

Rice produced the lone New York run Sunday with a 375-foot solo homer in the third inning. The slugger has shown no signs of slowing down after a hot start to the season -- over his past seven games, he's batting .310 (9-for-29) with four homers and eight RBI. Rice is among the MLB leaders in several categories, including OPS (1.004, second place), homers (22. fourth place) and RBI (53, tied for eighth place).

  • Tristan Peters CF | CHW

White Sox's Tristan Peters: Knocks in two

Peters went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Tigers.

Peters was a primary driver of the White Sox's offense Sunday, doubling in a run in the seventh inning before hitting a sacrifice fly in the 10th frame. This marked Peter's first multi-hit effort in his last nine starts, and he's gone just 5-for-28 in that span. Overall, he's been a source of empty batting average in 210 plate appearances this season, though he has been Chicago's primary center fielder and should remain in that role due to his strong ability with the glove.

  • White Sox's Luisangel Acuna: Slugs first homer

Acuna went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Tigers.

Acuna has been limited to a short-side platoon role for most of the season, with his start Sunday marking only his fifth against a righty since the start of May. He did manage to make a positive impression with his opportunity, smacking a two-run home run in the sixth inning off Keider Montero for his first long ball of the season. Acuna's lack of playing time keeps him off the fantasy radar in nearly every format, though he has gone 10-for-24 with five RBI and four runs scored since June 1.
