Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Fitts will make his next start Monday against the Blue Jays in Boston, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Fitts had been in line to make his second start of the season Saturday against the Cardinals, but that game was postponed due to inclement weather. With the Red Sox and Cardinals making up the game in a doubleheader Sunday, both teams are allotted a 27th man. The Red Sox will take advantage of the extra roster spot and have Triple-A Worcester call-up Hunter Dobbins start the second game of the twin bill while giving Fitts some extra rest. Dobbins is likely to be sent back to the minors immediately after the doubleheader while Boston returns to a five-man rotation to begin the upcoming week.

Though Cora noted that he was impressed with Dobbins' velocity readings in spring training, the 25-year-old labored in his first Triple-A start this past Tuesday, striking out two over 3.2 innings while allowing five earned runs on three hits -- all home runs -- and three walks. He'll make for a risky streaming option Sunday.

Refsnyder will start the first game of Sunday's scheduled doubleheader in right field in place of Wilyer Abreu (undisclosed), Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Abreu was scratched from Saturday's game, which was eventually postponed and rescheduled for Sunday. Refsnyder will be making his second start of the season and could be in for a third start in the nightcap.

Burger went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Rays.

After Marcus Semien led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer, Burger extended the Rangers' cushion with a three-run blast in the same frame. It was Burger's second homer of the season, and the knock snapped an 0-for-11 run.

The Red Sox recalled Dobbins from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

Dobbins has been designated as the team's 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals, so he'll presumably head back to Worcester after the twin bill is completed. The Red Sox haven't clarified what Dobbins' role will look like Sunday, as Sean Newcomb is starting the first game of the doubleheader, while Richard Fitts could be available to take the hill for the nightcap. If Fitts ends up starting, Dobbins could be an option out of the bullpen for both games.

Rafaela is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

The 24-year-old was scheduled to sit Saturday prior to that game being postponed, and he'll stick on the bench for the opener of the twin bill. Rafaela could use the reset, as he has gone 3-for-26 through eight games this season. Kristian Campbell is instead manning center field, opening up the keystone for David Hamilton.

Abreu (undisclosed) is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Abreu was scratched from the lineup Saturday for unspecified reasons prior to that contest being postponed, and he remains on the bench for Sunday's matinee. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, going 9-for-22 with two doubles, three homers, eight RBI and nine runs. It's not yet clear if the Abreu is dealing with an injury, leaving his availability up in the air heading into the nightcap.

Bazzana went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI and four runs scored for Double-A Akron on Saturday.

Bazzana has made a great first impression at the Double-A level, going 6-for-8 with two walks, two extra-base hits, two steals, three RBI and five runs scored through his first two games for the RubberDucks. The first overall in the 2024 draft, Bazzana immediately showed off his 70-grade hit tool and could breeze through the system on his way toward the starting job at second base for the Guardians later this season.

Cantillo struck out two over 2.1 scoreless and hitless innings in Saturday's 10-4 loss to the Angels.

Cantillo had his best outing of the season, retiring all seven batters he faced in a low-leverage situation. The 25-year-old left-hander, who was moved to the bullpen after losing out on a bid for the rotation, had allowed five runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over his first three innings.

McKenzie allowed three runs on three hits, four walks and a wild pitch Saturday while striking out three over 1.2 innings in a 10-4 loss to the Angels.

Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt hoped the right-hander could provide some length after starter Tanner Bibee was chased with none out in the fifth inning, but McKenzie did nothing to quiet the Angels. The Guardians have been waiting for the 27-year-old to rediscover his 2022 form (2.96 ERA as a starter), but to no avail. He was moved to the bullpen after a rocky Cactus League season in which he allowed 10 runs, 15 hits and eight walks over 13 innings.
