Gibson dealt with some back tightness during his last start with High-A Aberdeen on Sunday, Jim Hayes of FanDuel Sports Network reports.

Gibson indicated that he feels ready to join the Orioles' rotation, so it doesn't sound as if the back issue he had is a big deal. However, it could have contributed to the Orioles choosing Brandon Young -- rather than Gibson -- to start Friday's game in Detroit. It's not clear whether Gibson will make another start in the minors first, but he's a good bet to join the Orioles' rotation sometime next week. The 37-year-old has been ramping up in the minors after signing with Baltimore late in spring training.

The Yankees activated Grisham (personal) from the paternity list Thursday.

Grisham missed the entirety of the Yankees' three-game set in Cleveland earlier this week but will be back for their weekend series at home against the Blue Jays. He's been a pleasant surprise offensively in 2025, collecting a 1.093 OPS with six home runs in his first 20 games.

The Royals recalled Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Bowlan will serve as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Rockies. The 28-year-old has made a full-time move to relief this season at Omaha, yielding four runs with a 12:5 K:BB over 12 frames.

Mangum is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday after exiting Wednesday's 7-6 win over Arizona in 11 innings due to left groin tightness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Mangum grounded out in both of his plate appearances before he was lifted prior to the bottom of the fourth inning due to the injury. He told Bass after the game that he isn't too concerned about the injury, but even if the MRI reveals nothing serious, Mangum would seem unlikely to play in Thursday's series finale. The 29-year-old rookie has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays and fantasy managers alike through the first month of the season, batting .338 with eight stolen bases, seven RBI and seven runs over 21 games.

Rivas went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Red Sox.

Since being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on April 9, Rivas has started at second base in five of the Mariners' ensuing 12 games. Three of those five starts have come against left-handed starting pitchers, and the switch-hitting Rivas will remain in the lineup at the keystone again Thursday while the Red Sox send southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill. Rivas will likely continue to occupy the short side of a platoon at second base with the right-handed-hitting Dylan Moore, who typically plays elsewhere around the diamond or in the outfield when the Mariners face lefties.

India is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with the Rockies.

India had been scheduled to sit out Wednesday's matchup with right-hander German Marquez before the game was rained out, so it's not especially surprising that the 28-year-old finds himself on the bench for Game 1 of the twin bill while Marquez takes the hill for the Rockies. Expect India to be back in the lineup for the second game of the day.

Raley is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Boston.

The left-handed-hitting Raley will be on the bench versus a lefty hurler for the second day in a row. Dylan Moore is in right field and batting leadoff for the Mariners against southpaw Garrett Crochet.

Tellez is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.

It's southpaw Garrett Crochet on the bump for the Red Sox, so the left-handed-hitting Tellez will begin the contest on the bench. Donovan Solano is starting at first base and batting sixth for the Mariners in Thursday's series finale.

Polanco is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.

The switch-hitting Polanco remains limited from the right side of the plate as he manages a side injury, so he'll take a seat as the Red Sox send southpaw Garrett Crochet to the bump. Cal Raleigh is in the designated-hitter spot Thursday, while Mitch Garver starts at catcher.

The Twins recalled Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday.

Minnesota optioned Gasper to Triple-A less than a week ago, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club after super-utility man Willi Castro (oblique) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Gasper will serve as an emergency No. 3 catcher and will provide depth at three infield spots as well as left field, but he's unlikely to be in store for regular playing time after going 2-for-18 at the plate over 10 games in his initial stint with the Twins this season.
