Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a run scored, two RBI, a walk and a strikeout during Saturday's 10-5 loss to the Mets.

Yusei Kikuchi SP | LAA
Angels' Yusei Kikuchi: Starting Sunday vs. Texas
Kikuchi (shoulder) will be activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start against the Rangers on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Kikuchi did not have a great rehab assignment, posting a horrid 15.63 ERA and 2.37 WHIP in 12.2 innings across four minor-league outings. However, he's progressed enough in his recovery from left shoulder inflammation to return to the Angels' rotation, nearly four months after landing on the IL. In his seven major-league starts prior to his absence, Kikuchi posted an 0-3 record with a 5.81 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 33:14 K:BB over 31 innings.

Kade Anderson SP | SEA
Mariners' Kade Anderson: Just misses quality start in MLB debut
Anderson took a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
Making his highly anticipated major-league debut, the 22-year-old southpaw fired four shutout innings to begin Saturday's outing before faltering a bit. The Cubs tagged Anderson for a pair of solo home runs in the sixth inning to spoil what was an outstanding opening act up until that point, but the rookie hurler still showed plenty of promise overall. Anderson, widely regarded as the top pitching prospect in baseball, is tentatively slated to make his second big-league appearance next weekend in Toronto.

Jake Burger 1B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Leaves game with wrist injury
Burger was removed from Saturday's game against the Angels due to a left wrist contusion, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Burger was hit by a pitch on his left wrist in the third inning, and he was replaced by Nicky Lopez in the top of the fifth. The good news for Burger is that X-rays did not show a fracture, so he can be considered day-to-day and could be available to play in Sunday's series finale.

Brendan Donovan 3B | SEA
Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Sustains head injury pregame
Donovan was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Cubs after being hit in the head by a baseball in the batting cages pregame.
Donovan is currently being evaluated by the medical staff for his head injury, and the Mariners should have an update before too long. Weston Wilson was a late addition to the Mariners' lineup Saturday, starting at third base and batting eighth.

George Springer DH | TOR
Blue Jays' George Springer: Three hits in Saturday's win
Springer went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.
The veteran slugger gave the Blue Jays a quick lead with an RBI single in the first inning, and they never relinquished it. Springer has multiple hits in three of his last five games, an impressive turnaround after he'd gone 14 straight contests without one. He's still looking for his first home run in August, batting .262 (16-for-61) on the month with two doubles, a triple, three steals, seven runs and seven RBI over 20 games.

Louie Varland RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Louis Varland: Nails down 29th save
Varland gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his 29th save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Yankees.
New York did all its scoring in the seventh and eighth innings, but Varland snuffed out the rally on 21 pitches (12 strikes). The right-hander has converted five straight save chances, and over 20.1 innings since the beginning of July he's produced a 1.77 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB.

Dylan Cease SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Dylan Cease: Dominates Yankees for eighth win
Cease (8-5) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and five walks over 6.2 innings in a 4-3 victory over the Yankees. He struck out eight.
The right-hander struggled to find the strike zone at times, but New York hitters couldn't do much when he did get the ball over the plate -- Cease took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning, only to have it broken up by a Jazz Chisholm single. Cease leads the American League in strikeouts on the season with 209, and his ERA (2.37) is second only to Cam Schlittler's 2.16, as the duo gets ready to duke it out for the Cy Young Award over the final weeks. Cease lines up to make his next start at home next weekend against the Mariners.

Brendan Donovan 3B | SEA
Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Late scratch Saturday
Donovan (undisclosed) was a late scratch for Saturday's game against the Cubs, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
The Mariners waited until the very last moment to make a lineup change, and the nature and severity of Donovan's unspecified injury is unclear. Weston Wilson is in at third base in Donovan's absence.
