  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Twins transferred Keaschall (elbow) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was given a recovery timeline of two months after being diagnosed with a fractured right forearm in late April, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return date. Keaschall went 7-for-19 with three doubles and five steals in his first seven big-league games prior to suffering the injury.

  • Tanner Houck SP | BOS

Red Sox's Tanner Houck: Shut down from throwing

Houck (elbow) was shut down from throwing Sunday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

The right-hander landed on the injured list Wednesday due to a right flexor pronator strain, but he didn't appear to be in store for a lengthy absence after an MRI came back clean Friday. It's unclear if Houck suffered a setback since getting the imaging, but the pause in his throwing program likely means he'll spend more than the 15-day minimum on the shelf.

  • Royals' Jonathan Bowlan: Rejoins MLB club

The Royals recalled Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

The right-hander has spent most of the campaign with Omaha, where he produced a 2.08 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB over 17.1 innings. Bowlan delivered two scoreless frames in his lone big-league appearance of the campaign.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Heading to bench Sunday

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Vaughn started the previous 24 contests but will step out of the starting nine after posting a .215/.237/.344 slash line during that stretch. Joshua Palacios is batting third as the designated hitter while Michael Taylor starts in right field Sunday.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: On bench again Sunday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Sosa has an .889 OPS in his past eight games but finds himself on the bench Sunday for the second time in the White Sox's last three contests. Josh Rojas is manning the keystone while Miguel Vargas is at third base and Tim Elko starts at first.

  • Kade Strowd RP | ARI

Orioles' Kade Strowd: Back in big leagues

The Orioles recalled Strowd from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

The right-hander was promoted for one day in late April and will rejoin the Orioles with Kyle Gibson being designated for assignment. Strowd has a 7.47 ERA and 25:7 K:BB over 15.2 innings for Norfolk this season and is looking to make his MLB debut.

  • Drew Waters CF | KC

Royals' Drew Waters: Out of Sunday's starting nine

Waters is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

The switch-hitting outfielder went 2-for-10 with three strikeouts while starting the previous three games, but he'll hit the bench for Sunday's series finale versus St. Louis. Hunter Renfroe will take over in right field for Waters against lefty Matthew Liberatore.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Not starting Sunday

Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Keith started the previous three games and went 4-for-9 with two doubles, a walk and three runs, but he'll still take a seat Sunday against Toronto righty Jose Berrios. Riley Greene will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Akil Baddoo receives a start in left field.

  • Cole Winn RP | TEX

Rangers' Cole Winn: Returns to Triple-A

The Rangers optioned Winn to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

The right-hander was called up from Triple-A on Thursday and delivered 2.1 scoreless frames Friday in his season debut for the Rangers. Winn will return to Round Rock, where he's started the campaign with 23.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

  • Rangers' Caleb Boushley: Promoted Sunday

The Rangers recalled Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was sent down Thursday but will rejoin the big-league roster ahead of Sunday's series finale versus Houston. Boushley has made six appearances in the majors so far this year and has a 4.50 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB over 12 innings.
