Polanco is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Polanco has been dealing with a sore side for most of the season, which has made it uncomfortable batting as a right-hander. With southpaw Mitchell Parker taking the mound for the Nationals, Polanco will begin Tuesday's game on the bench while Mitch Garver serves as the designated hitter and bats fifth. Polanco has slashed .155/.234/.241 with one home run and five RBI in 64 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Jankowski (groin) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday at Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After being acquired from the White Sox in late April, Jankowski had worked his way into a strong-side platoon role in the Rays outfield. He produced a modest .258/.294/.323 slash line over 14 games with Tampa Bay before being shelved May 15 with a left groin strain. Jankowski may need just a handful of games in the minors to prove that he's healthy again, but he won't be guaranteed a meaningful role once activated. Josh Lowe has since beaten Jankowski back from the IL, and the eventual returns of Jake Mangum (groin) and Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) will only further increase the crowding in the Tampa Bay outfield.

Seager (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday against the Blue Jays, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

He faced live pitching over the weekend and was expected to be activated sometime during this series against Toronto. It was the second hamstring-related IL stint for Seager this season.

Thomas is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Thomas has gone 0-for-14 with two walks and seven strikeouts in four games since returning from the injured list last week. Angel Martinez will receive the start in center field and bat ninth Tuesday against Los Angeles righty Dustin May.

The Red Sox reinstated Fitts (pectoral) from the 15-day injured list, and he will start Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

The right-hander was originally expected to make his second minor-league rehab start Tuesday, but he'll instead re-enter Boston's rotation after a six-week absence due to a pectoral strain. Fitts threw 38 pitches across three innings during his lone rehab appearance, so he'll likely have some workload limitations in his first couple outings back in the majors. He made three starts prior to the injury and had a 3.18 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 17 innings.

Kelly was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

Kelly got the call Sunday and gave up two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk with zero strikeouts in two innings against the Orioles. Richard Fitts (pectoral) was activated in a corresponding move.

Olson (finger) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

He threw off flat ground for the first time Thursday and will advance his rehab Wednesday with a bullpen session. Olson has been out since May 17 with right ring finger inflammation.

Gelof (ribs) was cleared to begin a hitting progression Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Gelof has yet to make his 2025 debut with the Athletics after needing surgery in March to repair a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist and then suffering a stress reaction in his ribs earlier this month following a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas. The rib issue is considered the greater concern at this point, but Gelof took a step in the right direction over the weekend by resuming baseball activities. The 25-year-old is limited to dry swinging for the time being and will eventually need to face live pitching in batting practice before the Athletics map out a new rehab assignment for him. He's without a clear timeline to return from the 60-day injured list.

Cobb (hip) threw a bullpen session Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

He was struggling fielding his position during live batting practice in early May and then got a series of injections in his hip last week. It's still very early in the ramp-up process for Cobb, who hasn't pitched in a game at any level yet this year.

Perez (back) was activated from the 60-day injured list and is starting in center field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Giants, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 25-year-old has been on the shelf due to back inflammation for the first two months of the campaign, but he's ready for his season debut after going 4-for-18 with a .730 OPS during a six-game rehab assignment. Perez posted a .242/.300/.383 slash line in 112 games as a rookie last year and should see most of his playing time in center and right field. Matt Vierling (shoulder) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.
