Lugo (finger) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Tigers, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

After being placed on the shelf May 17 due to a right middle finger sprain, Lugo healed quickly and will rejoin the Kansas City rotation when first eligible. Prior to being deactivated, Lugo accumulated a 3.02 ERA and a 42:15 K:BB over 56.2 innings.

Cecconi (groin) is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Angels, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander was scratched from his start Wednesday against the Dodgers due to mild groin tightness, but his outing will only end up being pushed back a few days. The injury results in a more favorable matchup for Cecconi, who has a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB in his first two starts after opening the season on the injured list due to an oblique strain.

Massey was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds due to left ankle soreness.

Massey was removed from Wednesday's lineup after being listed as the team's starting left fielder. However, pain in his left ankle will prevent him from starting the contest. John Rave will enter the lineup in right field while Dairon Blanco slides to left. The Royals are off Thursday before starting a three-game series against the Tigers on Friday.

Rave is now batting eighth and playing right field for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Rave was initially scheduled to have the night off, but he's been pushed into the starting lineup after Michael Massey (ankle) was scratched. Rave hasn't logged a hit in eight plate appearances since being called up Monday.

Leon (knee) will continue his rehab at Triple-A Sugar Land and is likely to be activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday or Friday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reported Wednesday.

Leon has played three games in the Florida Complex League as part of his rehab assignment and went 4-for-12 with three home runs. Per Romero, Leon is fully recovered from the knee sprain and is expected to be called up in the next couple of days.

Rodriguez (lat/elbow) has started throwing on flat ground but remains without a timetable for return, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reported Wednesday.

Rodriguez has been on the injured list since spring training, though an April 23 diagnosis of a lat strain threw a wrench in his recovery from elbow inflammation. The 25-year-old isn't likely to rejoin the Orioles' rotation until the second half of the season, but the fact he's started up his throwing program is an encouraging development.

O'Neill (shoulder) resumed baseball activities and is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

O'Neill has been shelved since May 16 due to a left shoulder impingement but has been making progress in his recovery. The 30-year-old has begun doing baseball activities and is on track to return in early June, since he shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment.

Heim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Heim will yield to Kyle Higashioka behind the dish Wednesday. Heim is 2-for-18 (.111) with eight strikeouts over his last six appearances.
