Newman will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Newman will enter the lineup for the first time since May 26, manning the hot corner while Luis Rengifo rests for the series finale. With Yoan Moncada (knee) on the shelf, Rengifo is expected to serve as the Angels' primary option at third base for the foreseeable future, leaving playing time up for grabs at the keystone. Newman is expected to factor into the mix for reps at second base, but the Angels are also likely to give opportunities to Chris Taylor and Scott Kingery.

Gimenez went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies.

Activated from the IL earlier in the day after being out since May 7 due to a quad strain, Gimenez was back at his usual second base spot and batting ninth against southpaw Cristopher Sanchez. Gimenez is in the lineup for his defense, not his offense, but he'll need to improve on his .191/.272/.298 slash line for the season if he wants to avoid losing playing time to the red-hot Ernie Clement, who posted a .903 OPS in 23 games while Gimenez was sidelined.

Story is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Angels.

Story went 1-for-8 with four strikeouts in the first two games of the series and will get some rest for Wednesday's finale. David Hamilton will start at shortstop and bat eighth as the Red Sox try to avoid the sweep.

Garcia (elbow) threw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

It's unclear how hard or how many pitches Garcia threw, but manager Joe Espada did note that the session went well. While this is a positive step forward, Garcia is expected to be sidelined until at least late July.

Paredes went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Pirates.

Paredes delivered insurance runs with a ninth-inning home run, his 12th long ball of the year. That broke a short-term slump, as Paredes hit only .175 with four RBI and five runs scored across a 10-game homestand that concluded Sunday.

Walker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Pirates.

Walker broke a scoreless tie with his eighth home run of the year in the seventh inning. Though interrupted by a brief absence after getting hit in the hand by a pitch, Walker has gone yard three times in his last seven games. While his power production is ticking up, Walker has hit only .226 across the last month while striking out at a 25 percent clip.

McClanahan (triceps) threw a short box bullpen session Tuesday and has a full bullpen session scheduled for Friday, MLB.com reports.

The Rays continue to offer optimistic news about McClanahan, as imaging has revealed no structural issues with his arm. He'll continue to ramp up his throwing intensity but will be sidelined until after the All-Star break.

Fairbanks threw a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner Tuesday against the Rangers.

The Rays were up by four runs, so it was not a save chance for Fairbanks. However, he hadn't appeared in a game since May 24, so the appearance was good for some needed work. Fairbanks has turned in six consecutive scoreless appearances while racking up a 6:3 K:BB in that span.

Mangum went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Tuesday against the Rangers.

Mangum has started four straight games since being activated from the injured list. He has only three hits across 15 at-bats, but he's delivered four RBI with a home run and a steal. Assuming he continues to get regular playing time, Mangum should be a solid source of batting average and stolen bases moving forward.
