Rave is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

After getting called up from Triple-A Omaha on May 26, Rave started in right field in five of the Royals' ensuing seven games but went just 3-for-15 with a double and a walk. With the Royals summoning another left-handed-hitting corner outfielder in top prospect Jac Caglianone from Omaha earlier this week, Rave's window for regular playing time against right-handed pitching appears to have closed.

Robert is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

White Sox manager Will Venable had previously committed to giving Robert two days off as the outfielder navigates through a season-long slump, but the skipper will end up keeping the outfielder on the bench for three days in a row. Michael Taylor will again patrol center field for the Pale Hose.

Loftin is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Loftin had picked up starts in each of the last three games -- two in left field and one at third base -- while going 3-for-11 with a solo home run and a double, but he'll be back on the bench for the first contest of the twin bill. With the Royals calling up top prospect Jac Caglianone from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, Loftin's opportunities to make starts out of the corner outfield could become more limited moving forward.

Keith is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the White Sox.

Kerry Carpenter will likely be limited to designated-hitter duties for a bit as he overcomes a hamstring issue, which is affecting Keith's playing time. Keith has been absent from the lineup twice in the last three contests after he had started each of the previous seven tilts.

Canha is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Canha has been starting regularly against left-handed pitching and even began to see a few more opportunities versus righties a couple weeks ago after the Royals phased out Hunter Renfroe before releasing him, but Canha's playing time has since tailed off. He's made just one start since May 26 and is unlikely to see his outlook improve anytime soon after the Royals called up top prospect Jac Caglianone from Triple-A Omaha earlier this week.

Dingler is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the White Sox.

Dingler started each of the first three games of the series, so he'll get a well-earned day of rest in Thursday's matinee. Jake Rogers will start at catcher and bat ninth for the Tigers.

Greene is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Greene will get a rare day off after starting in each of the previous 11 contests. The Tigers will go with Zach McKinstry in left field for Thursday's series finale.

Fermin is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Fermin made four straight starts from May 21 through May 25, but he's been included in the lineup just once in the Royals' eight games since then. With the Royals no longer carrying a third catcher on the roster after moving on from Luke Maile in late May, Fermin will likely see limited opportunities while Salvador Perez sees most of his playing time behind the dish rather than at designated hitter or first base. That being said, Perez is unlikely to catch both ends of Thursday's twin bill, so expect Fermin to get a start in the nightcap.

Carpenter (hamstring) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Thursday's game versus the White Sox.

Carpenter was scratched from the lineup Wednesday with a right hamstring issue that had been bothering him for a few days. He appeared in the Tigers' 5-4 win as a pinch hitter, however, and the Tigers feel comfortable enough with his health to have him handle a non-defensive role in Thursday's series finale.

White was a waiver claim by Chicago during spring training and hasn't pitched well at Charlotte, producing a 5.24 ERA and 36:27 K:BB across 44.2 frames. He will give the bullpen some length for the time being but could wind up getting a short-term look in the rotation after Jonathan Cannon (back) was placed on the injured list earlier this week.
