Cowser (soreness) isn't in the Orioles' starting lineup against the Angels on Saturday, but he is available off the bench, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Cowser will begin on the bench for the second straight day after colliding with the center field wall while playing defense Thursday. At this point, it doesn't seem that the outfielder is dealing with more than general soreness, and given his availability off the bench, an IL stint doesn't seem likely. Ramon Laureano is starting in left field in Cowser's stead Saturday while Ryan O'Hearn is patrolling right field.

Carter (wrist) got tests on his sore right wrist and isn't expected to return to the starting lineup until at least Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Carter is out of the starting lineup Saturday after departing Friday's matchup early due to wrist soreness that likely was a consequence of a diving catch he made in the fourth inning. While he won't start Sunday either, Carter could be available as a pinch runner this weekend. The hope among the Rangers is that the outfielder could be back Tuesday against Kansas City following an off day Monday.

India (shoulder) isn't starting against the Athletics on Saturday, but he could be available off the bench, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

India suffered a shoulder subluxation and was removed from Friday's matchup against the A's, and the issue will keep him out of the starting nine Saturday. However, the injury doesn't appear to be severe given manager Matt Quatraro's indication that the second baseman may be able to enter off the bench. Nick Loftin is getting a start at second base in India's absence Saturday.

Rocker is with the Rangers in Texas and could be asked to start Sunday versus the White Sox if Tyler Mahle (shoulder) is unable to pitch, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Though Rocker is with the team, no roster move has been made, so for now he is a contingency plan. Mahle felt some shoulder soreness during his most recent start Tuesday, but it's not yet clear if the issue is serious enough to prevent him from making his scheduled start Sunday. If Rocker is ultimately recalled to start, it would be his first appearance with the big club since he gave up five runs over 3.1 innings in a loss against Tampa Bay on June 4.

Mahle is dealing with a sore right shoulder ahead of his scheduled start against the White Sox on Sunday, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Mahle felt some soreness in his shoulder during his most recent start Tuesday against Minnesota, during which the right-hander gave up four runs over 5.2 innings. It's not yet clear if Mahle will miss Sunday's start versus Chicago due to the issue, but Kumar Rocker is with the Rangers in Texas and could be called upon if Mahle is unable to take the mound.

Baltimore optioned Handley to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Handley had been handling backup backstop duties for Baltimore since late April after Gary Sanchez landed on the injured list due to a wrist issue. However, Sanchez was activated Saturday, resulting in Handley's return to the minors. During his time with the Orioles, the 27-year-old posted a woeful .211 OPS, going 3-for-40 at the plate with no extra-base hits and three RBI while striking out 37 percent of the time.

The Orioles reinstated Sanchez (wrist) off the injured list Saturday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Sanchez had been on the IL since late April due to a wrist injury. He progressed to a minor-league rehab stint in early June and batted .364 (8-for-22) with three home runs, eight RBI and six runs with Triple-A Norfolk. Sanchez is now set to retake backup catcher duties for Baltimore behind Adley Rutschman. Fellow backstop Maverick Handley was optioned to Norfolk in a corresponding move. Sanchez is starting at DH and batting seventh Saturday in his return, per Jake Rill of MLB.com.

The White Sox optioned Gilbert to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Gilbert was just activated from the IL on Friday after missing time due to a knee injury, and he pitched two scoreless innings that same day. The lefty has performed relatively well for Chicago this season, posting a 4.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB with one hold and a 1-1 record over 15 innings spanning 14 appearances. Gilbert figures to be back up with the White Sox in due time, but for now he'll head to the minors to make room on the 26-man roster for recent trade acquisition Aaron Civale.

The White Sox optioned Elko to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Elko had been working as Chicago's primary first baseman prior to the demotion and slugged four homers with eight RBI and a stolen base over 18 games, though he posted a mediocre .601 OPS and 38.1 percent strikeout rate. His spot on the 26-man roster has been taken by Ryan Noda, who was called up from Charlotte in a corresponding move and could take over as Chicago's top option at first base.

The White Sox added Civale to their active roster Saturday.

Civale was acquired by Chicago in a trade with Milwaukee on Friday. He's slated to make his White Sox debut as a starter Sunday versus Texas. To make room for Civale on the 26-man roster, lefty reliever Tyler Gilbert was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte.
