The Rangers selected Dunning's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Dunning will be available out of the bullpen for Monday's series opener in Baltimore, but if he goes unused, he'll be an option to make a spot start or serve as a bulk reliever in Tuesday's contest. Since being outrighted off the Rangers' 40-man roster in May, Dunning has been working out of the rotation at Round Rock, pitching to a 3.76 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB in 26.1 innings. Even if he ends up getting a start Tuesday, Dunning likely won't be in store for multiple turns through the rotation since Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) looks poised to return from the 15-day injured list later this week.

The Yankees recalled Winans from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Winans will start Monday's game in Cincinnati, filling in for the injured Ryan Yarbrough (oblique). He earned the promotion after collecting a impressive 0.90 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:13 K:BB over 50 innings at Triple-A. With Marcus Stroman (knee) nearing a return from the injured list, Winans may be in line for just one start with the Yankees.

The Royals activated Wright (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.

Wright appears to be back to full health, but the Royals were unwilling to clear a spot for him on the 26-man active roster after he turned in a 5.48 ERA and 21:14 K:BB over 23 innings across eight rehab starts between Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The right-hander hasn't pitched at the big-league level since undergoing right shoulder surgery in October 2023. He covered three innings in his most recent outing for Omaha on Saturday, and Wright could continue to get stretched out as a starter while he sticks around at Triple-A.

High-A Cedar Rapids reinstated Amick (oblique) from the 7-day injured list Monday.

Amick has been cleared to make his return to the Cedar Rapids lineup for the first time since April 30 after he had been sidelined for seven weeks with a left oblique strain. The 22-year-old infielder was activated after he completed a six-game rehab assignment between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Fort Myers.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Jeffers will get a break in the series opener after he started each of the previous four days, with three of those starts coming at catcher. Christian Vazquez will replace Jeffers behind the plate Monday.

The Twins claimed Gillispie off waivers from the Marlins on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The 27-year-old has made six starts for the Marlins this season, posting an 8.65 ERA and 23:11 K:BB over 26 frames. Gillispie has experience as a starter and reliever, though it's not clear what role the Twins have planned for him. In any case, he'll provide some experienced pitching depth at St. Paul.

The Orioles selected Tromp's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. He'll start at catcher and bat ninth in the Orioles' series opener versus the Rangers.

With Adley Rutschman (oblique) and Maverick Handley (concussion) on the injured list, Tromp will serve as the Orioles' backup catcher behind Gary Sanchez. Tromp is a career .219/.229/.375 hitter over parts of six major-league seasons.

Handley was injured during a violent collision with the Yankees' Jazz Chisholm during Sunday's 4-2 loss. While Handley will be eligible to return in a week, the Orioles aren't providing a timetable for the 27-year-old's activation, given the unpredictability of concussions. Adley Rutschman (oblique) also remains on the IL, so the Orioles will go with Gary Sanchez and Chadwick Tromp as their options at catcher.

The Orioles transferred Mountcastle (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

After suffering a Grade 2 right hamstring strain in a May 30 game, Mountcastle was placed on the IL one day later. Though the Orioles never provided a firm timeline for Mountcastle's recovery, the veteran first baseman had been expected to miss around 8-to-12 weeks due to the moderate hamstring strain, so his move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return date. Ryan O'Hearn is poised to see the bulk of the starts at first base for the foreseeable future, with Coby Mayo occasionally mixing in.

Triple-A St. Paul placed Gasper on its 7-day injured list Monday due to bilateral plantar fasciitis.

The severity of Gasper's injury isn't clear, but the fact that he's battling plantar fasciitis on both feet suggests he'll likely be sidelined for more than the minimum seven days. Gasper has put up a porous .488 OPS over 39 plate appearances with the Twins this season, but he's crushed Triple-A pitching, slashing .318/.418/.609 with 10 home runs in 40 games for St. Paul.
