The Orioles transferred Mountcastle (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

After suffering a Grade 2 right hamstring strain in a May 30 game, Mountcastle was placed on the IL one day later. Though the Orioles never provided a firm timeline for Mountcastle's recovery, the veteran first baseman had been expected to miss around 8-to-12 weeks due to the moderate hamstring strain, so his move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return date. Ryan O'Hearn is poised to see the bulk of the starts at first base for the foreseeable future, with Coby Mayo occasionally mixing in.

Triple-A St. Paul placed Gasper on its 7-day injured list Monday due to bilateral plantar fasciitis.

The severity of Gasper's injury isn't clear, but the fact that he's battling plantar fasciitis on both feet suggests he'll likely be sidelined for more than the minimum seven days. Gasper has put up a porous .488 OPS over 39 plate appearances with the Twins this season, but he's crushed Triple-A pitching, slashing .318/.418/.609 with 10 home runs in 40 games for St. Paul.

Garcia (shoulder) was sent to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday to begin a rehab assignment.

He's been cleared to pitch in games after missing the past month due to a right shoulder impingement. Garcia will likely move up to a higher affiliate eventually to continue his rehab but shouldn't require more than a few appearances before returning from the 15-day injured list.

Forret (back) has allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out 14 batters over 12 innings in his four starts for High-A Aberdeen since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list June 4.

The 21-year-old right-hander missed all of May due to a back issue, but he's quickly returned to form since being activated from the IL. Over nine total starts with Aberdeen this season, Forret owns a 1.34 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 43:10 K:BB in 33.2 innings. Forret may not be far away from earning a promotion to Double-A Chesapeake.

Perkins struck out two batters and allowed one hit and no walks over three scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Guardians.

Perkins earned a call-up from Triple-A Las Vegas prior to Sunday's contest and was immediately put to work. He entered the contest in the top of the seventh while the Athletics faced a three-run deficit and proceeded to retire nine of the 10 batters he faced to finish out the game. Prior to his promotion, Perkins had been magnificent while working out of the Las Vegas rotation, logging a 2.86 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 68:20 K:BB in 44 innings. Though he looks set to operate as a multi-inning reliever for the time being, Perkins will be leading candidate to start when an opening in the Athletics rotation emerges.

Neto swatted a solo homer as a pinch hitter in Sunday's loss to the Astros.

Neto began the game on the bench, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning and went deep to left field to bring the Angels to within a run. The long ball snapped a 17-game homerless stretch for the talented young shortstop. Despite that drought, Neto has had a decent June overall, posting a .272/.322/.432 slash line with two homers, seven RBI, 15 runs and four stolen bases through 20 contests.

O'Hoppe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday in a loss to Houston.

O'Hoppe broke a scoreless tie with a two-run shot to left field in the fourth inning, notching his third long ball of the weekend. Prior to Saturday, the backstop endured a 19-game homer drought, but he's still second among all big-league catchers with 17 home runs on the season. O'Hoppe has added 37 RBI, 25 runs and a .233/.268/.471 slash line through 239 plate appearances.

Cruz (2-3) earned the win over Baltimore on Sunday, striking out all three batters he faced in a perfect inning of work.

Cruz came on in the eighth inning with the Orioles up 2-1, inheriting runners on first and second base with no outs. The right-hander put out the fire by striking out Ramon Laureano, Colton Cowser and Cedric Mullins on 13 total pitches. Cruz has been a punchout machine since coming off the injured list June 3, racking up 15 strikeouts over 6.2 innings covering eight appearances. He's given up four runs in that span but overall still holds a solid 3.26 ERA as one of New York's top high-leverage options this season.

The Astros optioned Whitcomb to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.

Whitcomb's most recent stint in the big leagues lasted less than a week, and he struck out in both of his plate appearances. He is being cleared from the active roster to make room for the return of Taylor Trammell (calf) from the 10-day injured list.

Trammell has been shelved all season with a significant right calf strain but is ready to go after playing 12 rehab contests. The 27-year-old is likely to operate primarily as a reserve outfielder for the Astros.
