The Red Sox transferred Slaten (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

The move to the 60-day IL means that Slaten will not return to the majors until late July. The move isn't all that surprising, considering the 27-year-old right-hander was recently cleared to start a throwing program as he works through right shoulder inflammation. In corresponding moves, Boston placed Luis Guerrero (elbow) on the 15-day IL and reinstated Chris Murphy (elbow) from the 60-day IL.

Guerrero allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one batter over his last two outings, and his elbow injury may have played a part in his recent poor performance. He's eligible to be reinstated July 13, but a strained elbow to the throwing arm typically results in a longer-than-minimum stint on the IL. To bolster their bullpen, the Red Sox reinstated Chris Murphy (elbow) from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Murphy is ready to return to the the Red Sox's bullpen after fully recovering from April 2024 Tommy John surgery. He posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB across 14.2 innings during his rehab assignment. In corresponding moves, Luis Guerrero (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list and Justin Slaten (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Robert (hamstring) is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Giants on Saturday.

Robert will be out of the lineup for a second straight game after he was removed from Wednesday's contest against Arizona due to left hamstring tightness. The White Sox will start Andrew Benintendi, Michael Taylor and Austin Slater in the outfield from left to right.

Teel is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Giants on Saturday.

Teel will get a breather while Edgar Quero serves behind home plate and bats fifth. Teel has started his major-league career slashing .279/.396/.349 with one steal, three doubles and two RBI across 53 plate appearances.

The Rays recalled Rock from Triple-A Durham on Saturday.

The Rays will bring up Rock to bolster the bullpen, designating Forrest Whitley for assignment in a corresponding move. Rock has spent the entire 2025 season in Triple-A, where he has a 3-5 record in 15 games (14 starts) with a 4.81 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 63:30 K:BB across 73 innings. He'll be available out of the Rays' bullpen and could make his major-league debut as soon as Saturday against the Orioles.

The Orioles designated Tyler for assignment Saturday.

The move makes room on the Orioles' 40-man roster for Emmanuel Rivera, whose contract was selected by Baltimore from Triple-A Norfolk. Tyler was claimed off waivers by the Orioles in mid-June after he was DFA'd by the Phillies on June 8. Across 14 games (12 starts) in Triple-A this season, Tyler has a 4.19 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 46:24 K:BB in 66.2 innings.

The Orioles optioned Carlson to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Carlson started four of Baltimore's past seven games but went 2-for-17 at the plate during that span. He's posted a .667 OPS across 115 major-league plate appearances this season and will now get a chance to work on his stroke in the minors. In a corresponding move, infielder Emmanuel Rivera had his contract selected from Norfolk.

The Orioles selected Rivera's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

The move gives the Orioles additional infield depth with Jordan Westburg currently day-to-day due to a left finger injury that he aggravated during Friday's 22-8 win over the Rays. Rivera was DFA'd by Baltimore on June 10 and was outrighted to Norfolk two days later after clearing waivers. He has gone 6-for-28 (.214) with four walks and four RBI in Triple-A since his outright assignment.

Neto (shoulder) struck out in a plate appearance as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to Washington.

A shoulder injury has kept Neto out of the starting lineup for the Angels' past two games, though his ability to bat as a pinch hitter Friday suggests that a stint on the IL probably isn't in order. An MRI on Neto's shoulder came back negative, but as of Friday he hadn't yet tested the shoulder by throwing a baseball, according to Doug Padilla of The Orange County Register. Neto will probably need to check off that box before returning to the lineup, though the talented shortstop said that he's "moving in the right direction." He should be considered day-to-day for the time being.
