  • Angels' Christian Moore: Exits early Wednesday

Moore was removed from Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to an apparent wrist injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore landed awkwardly on his left hand/wrist while diving for a groundball in the sixth inning and immediately came out of the game. He'll presumably head in for imaging to determine the extent of the damage done, and the Angels should provide more information on his status in the near future.

  • Bo Naylor C | MIL

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Idle against lefty

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

The left-handed-hitting Naylor will be on the bench for the third time in four games, with the Guardians having faced three lefty starters during that stretch. Austin Hedges will fill in for Naylor behind the plate Wednesday.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting in third straight vs. LHP

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

The Guardians are facing a lefty (Shota Imanaga) for the third game in a row, and the left-handed-hitting Manzardo has been excluded from the lineup for all of those contests. David Fry will get another start at designated hitter Wednesday at Manzardo's expense.

  • Jacob Latz RP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob Latz: Claims save in long relief

Latz (undisclosed) struck out three and allowed two hits and no walks over three scoreless innings en route to earning a save in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Orioles.

In his previous appearance during Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Orioles, Latz was lifted after 2.1 innings due to an apparent injury, but the Rangers felt comfortable enough with his health to turn to him in an extended relief outing two days later. Latz needed 43 pitches to record his nine outs and was credited with the first save of his career. The left-hander previously made a pair of starts in June but will likely work out of the bullpen moving forward following Nathan Eovaldi's recent return from the injured list.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rangers' Jon Gray: Close to rehab assignment

Gray (wrist) tossed a bullpen session Wednesday and is close to being cleared to embark on a rehab assignment, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Gray fractured his right wrist during spring training, which caused him to start the season on the 60-day injured list. He was cleared to throw off a mound in mid-June, and the 33-year-old right-hander appears to be ready to start a minor-league rehab assignment. Gray will aim for a return in late July after the All-Star break.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Drawing fifth straight start

Urias will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Urias will cover third base for the fifth consecutive game while Jordan Westburg remains on the bench as he continues to recover from a left index finger sprain. Westburg is hopeful to rejoin the lineup for the Orioles' series in Atlanta this weekend, but Urias could still see steady playing time if Baltimore elects to use Westburg as a designated hitter to aid in his recovery.

  • Thomas Sosa CF | BAL

Orioles' Thomas Sosa: Returns from IL

Sosa (undisclosed) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday and went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run in High-A Aberdeen's 5-2 win over Greensboro.

Sosa started in left field and batted out of the cleanup spot for Aberdeen in his first game for the affiliate since April 9. Before returning to the High-A club, Sosa completed a 10-game rehab assignment with Single-A Delmarva and slashed .237/.326/.316 with one home run and one stolen base.

  • Astros' Victor Caratini: Sitting Wednesday

Caratini is not in the Astros' starting lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Caratini will begin Wednesday's game on the bench after going 2-for-4 with a grand slam against Colorado on Tuesday. Shay Whitcomb will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth.

  • Angels' LaMonte Wade: Returns to bench role

Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Wade will take a seat against a right-handed starting pitcher (Didier Fuentes) for the second day in a row and looks as though he'll have to settle for a reserve role moving forward after the Angels welcomed Jorge Soler back from the injured list Tuesday. Since being acquired from the Giants on June 8, Wade has gone 5-for-33 (.152 average) with one stolen base and no extra-base hits through his first 14 games with the Halos.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Resting Wednesday

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Travis d'Arnaud will fill in behind the plate while O'Hoppe rests. O'Hoppe had started at catcher in each of the Angels' previous four contests and went 3-for-19 with a double.
